Plus, the phone is very narrow in width, which makes it much easier to hold one hand vertically while reading contexts.
Your computations are just making you imagine things that aren't necessary in real life. If the screen is smaller when displaying a 16:9 content, it would actually make it much easier to manage since contents actually don't extend to the top and bottom of the screen.
You people these days would really find a massive issue even on the smallest of things, *sigh.

I would have liked a larger FHD display, for reading ebooks. 21:9 is not necessary, no one watches Cinemascope movies on such a tiny display. Most videos are FHD (1920x1080). I know that most consumers do not calculate the aspect ratio to know the corresponding diagonal of a 16:9 display, in order to judge the width of the display. I have calculated a factor of 0.8. 6.1" * 0.8 = 4.88". This is smaller than a Samsung S5/S7. I could get a Samsung A71, but do not like the punch hole camera. Bevels are perfect to put front-facing stereo speakers on the phone. And a 3.5" jack is obligatory for high-end earphones (Sennheiser, ...) and confidentiality/availability.

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2020I don't care what you think. It is big.The problem is not the screen size, it's more about the screen aspect ratio. When you have 16:9 or 18:9, you have a screen that is wide though 18:9 strike the balance between height and width. Now with anything above 18:9, you have a screen that is tall. That is why 6" 16:9 phone can still be managed one-handed compared to a 6" 19:9 or 20:9 phone.

Really cannot wait for this phone to be officially launched. I've been longing for a trimmed-down Xperia 1 ii with a smaller screen and lower resolution.
