Maybe apple should have gone Samsung way and lower their resolution when 120hz is used to conserve battery? To be fair for apple, iPhone 12 is a new generation and it sells based on new looks, and S year is reserved for internal improvement.

Come on! You can't have TWO inventions in a single year. This year it's widgets. NEXT year Apple wil invent high refresh rate. In 2022. they'll invent simple bluetooth sharing for every file between anny device. Even mp3! In 2023. They will invent u-notch. 2024. will bring us invention of usb-c. Three years after everybody uses usb-d. In 2025, great new invention, charging brick in retail package! A whole 10 watt one!!!

In a way it's good coz this will reflect in pricing.
This year we may witness value for money iphones.
Iphones are all about software experience and no other brand is even near them. Yes they are not the best choice for media consumption but those who are average users will be more than satisfied with these. I own 3 year old iphone X and still don't face any need to upgrade. It's extremely smooth and fast.
Also I'm super excited about latest iOS upgrade. Something that is not very common in android's.
Pricing is subjective as I do not think that in US market you can call it overprice considering its Quality, Camera, hardware and OS support.

New innovation from Apple : Steep drop from 120Hz to 60Hz along with the other innovations like removing headphone jack from the phone and the charger from the box for iHerd to pay a premium for.

I don't understand... Doesn't Sharp's IGZO panel already provide that energy efficient OLED to make this happen? Every phone brand not named Razer seriously sleeps on those...

This is just sad from Apple. LTPO is being used by several Android manufacturers. Except for profit considerations, there is absolutely no reason for Apple to not use the high refresh rate displays.
