Not ideal for ebook reading yes.
Its ideal for mostly used portrait web browsing, most android portrait oriented apps, gaming, watching movies, multitasking. What etc. you mean?
Good phone but overprice.

But can you point out which one of them is using Xperia 1 II specifically for content creation? Name one content creator (non paid) who specifically bought Xperia 1 II for content creation?
Don't get me wrong, Xperia 1 II is a good smartphone but you need to calm down on
this "designed for content creators" marketing gimmick.
Yes I have seen other reviews from Micheal Fisher, Juan bagnell, etc.
CNET, Verge, etc are a joke...Super biased.
ARA007, 17 Sep 2020It could reach even 240 Hz refresh rate thanks to Sony technology !!!You mean Samsung technology as it it will be another Oled made by Samsung :D
Sony technology ... what a laughable term.

Mori, 17 Sep 2020No need for 120Hz on a phone. 60Hz is OK.
I can bet my arm, that u cant see difference in 60-... moreOne can easily see difference between 60hz and 120hz.
Maybe you need to get your eyes and body touch sensing abilities checked.
I switched from iPhone 11 pro Max to OP8 Pro.
Never going back to 60hz again.

Real Creators hardly use smartphones for their professional work.
One can clearly say that you did not see Micheal fisher's review. He specifically tested the manual mode pics which took a few minutes.
Pixel with auto mode clicked as good of a pic with him coming to the conclusion that the auto mode from Pixel was enough to bury any manual mode gimmicks on Xperia 1 II.

They could've put the latest Gorilla Glass on this one, 6 isn't bad but 7 would've been much better
Shanti Dope, 17 Sep 2020JPEG processing is too aggressive at applying HDR trickeries.
Sony's image processing is... moreYah, just seen the night Rooftop camera comparison from that guy.
Xperia 1 II was great IMO, natural coloring, shading and minimal noise. And that without HDR.
Those night modes on other contenders... man, so fake and over-over processed looking, and the noise on the Pixel was the worst offender there. Samsung actually did quite good, beating Huawei and Google.
Guess its only worth if looking those night mode shots on dimmed down mobile screens.

A very decent all round complete compact Android phone for 2020. Sony ever so slowly making moves again. Keep at it Sony!
Shanti Dope, 17 Sep 2020Weak processing my a**!
All you guys are just s*ckers for HDR processing with huge shadow boo... moreThese two guys don't have any idea how a camera sensor and image processing works so don't listen to them. They're just exaggerating.
I don't understand either so I'll probably just keep shut for now.
Shanti Dope, 17 Sep 2020The things they've demanded for years, now they're gonna hate them!

As I've predicted in the past, when Sony lovers get 120hz unlocked display all these complaints would automatically evaporate.
One can even see these comments in the Xperia phone sections. Blind fans defending 60hz and hating on 120hz. Where are they now?
Anonymous, 17 Sep 2020You want to know what is compact?
XZ2 Compact, iPhone 11 Pro, S20, Samsung A41
No way 158 x ... moreso 5II / 158x68 is not compact but s20 / 162x73.7 is :) ...
yet, maybe compactness should consider the size of the screen, too? iphone 11 is 5.8", xperia 5II is 6.1", s20 is 6.7"...
also, considering the screen ratio variety (16/9, 19/9, 20/9, 21/9...) the volume could be a parameter.
yet, i don't recall a definition of the "compactness", as a set of dimensions / volume / weight...
VectorR, 17 Sep 2020I like that T* anti-reflective coating joke :). Xperia 1 II has the same thing but for some re... moreThat I have to agree. Really funny. 😂
It has bad DR to begin with (overblown highlights all over the place) thus the Zeiss coating can just help it a little bit only.
Sony needs a little bit of computational photography in Auto mode, considering its a small smartphone camera sensor, not a FF camera (dont exaggerate it as Samsung does)
Stick the already great Photo & Cinema Pro mode, but put a bit of computational photography in Auto mode for point & shoot. Best of both worlds.
excellent work

Xperia 1 II is not a phone for him, as he is not a creator, nor does he wish any more control over the camera more than point n shoot, guys like him should not even review it, as they do not understand the point behind it....
There are a lot more creative nerdy based reviewers out on yt, who reviewed Xperia 1 II more objectively and much more positively, especially from an all-in-one package point of view, whilst Fischer...judges phones only through their camera likability point.
