Youtube is full of reviewers that get tons of gifts from companies.
There are companies that even pay vacations in exchange of compliments for their products.
Don't you think it's weird a person that has no knowledge about screen, video, photos, audio doing reviews of phones?
Same speech can be heard from many of them:
- screen: oled or lcd, resolution, refresh rate, brightness
- audio: loud or quite
- photo: dynamic range, details in the shadows
- video : good or bad stabilization
Youtubers want views. Everybody knows Apple and Samsung are more popular.
Everybody knows geeks have fetish for Pixel (despite stock android being 7 years behind costumized UIs) and OP (just because it used to have best benchmarks).
Considering that LG, Sony, HTC and Motorola generate way less views. They do not need to spend their time drooling all over them.
If you want to review phones on youtube, at least learn basic stuff first, such as:
- you cannot record 8K with 12MP camera. 12MP is near 4,5K.
- you cannot use 4K resolution + 90Hz same time
- RAM and storage from different makers will have different speeds, even if they are same type. UFS3.0 from Samsung Semicon is faster than UFS3.0 from other suppliers.
- smaller screen pixels of oled have lower light emission, you cannot go as bright as lower resolution screen
- more brightness will damage oled faster. It is not like lcd you can use 800 nits all time without any issue.
- speaker beside usb will always be louder. More space there for the system.
- IP68 : 6 means protection against dust, not just water.
- more ram will use more power.

I dont get why cant they make this more wider. It's too much like a remote controller with that 158 x 68 for a 6.1 is too much. Especially when there is Samsung A41 that have same size screen for 149.9 x 69.8
So basically the top and bottom bezel ads 10mm

This phone sounds amazing. I don't mind the smaller size... I just wish it was under $600
$900 + is too much for ANY phone!

Sony does bezel cause it doesnt like notch or bhole design, nor silly pop ups. It doesnt have anything to do with usage of it.
Why a single selfie camera on it? Well, obviously, not a selfie type of customer oriented device.
I am, and know a lot of people that type, in 4 yrs I used the selfie cam what, maybe 5 times altogether. And only for web profiling. But dont like mugshots, prefer to do some artistic portrait profile shots with added content and with main cam instead.
And I tend not to bother my social site friends with mugshots of me all over my trip or party reports, etc... thats what attention seeking teenagers tend to do.
And Im not about seeking excess attention as it is bothersome to most people, so not interested in selfie cameras.
For what it is, that "lousy" selfie cam is quite enough for most healthy sane people.

Xperia 1 II was bullied for all its shortcomings despite having promising hardware.
Sony manufactures sensors for all phones yet can't get their algorithm right.

A pity: no FM radio means I can't buy this phone.
Also, policy of stopping security updates at 2 years is unforgivable at this price point.
Time to leave Xperia behind for something with a longer shelf life.
I was a happy customer but lack of FM and 2y policy is too much.

Xperia, Oppo and OP all do 8+2 to display 10bit content.
XZ3 is true 10bit, because it is oled from LG.
