I’ve just purchased a new iPhone 7 Plus 126 gb with a year of Apple guarantee for just 450 dollars. iOS 14 works as smoothly and fast as a 2020 flagship. Much better value than those plastic Chinese phone which are about the same price.

Anonymous, 17 Sep 2020If android is so superior, can you explain why people mostly buy cheap androids? why Apple sel... moreLOL....
you asked a question that u urself already know the answer.
It's PRECISELY because Android OS ALREADY MATURE (in your language, 'superior') that EVEN CHEAP ANDROIDS can functioned as good as flagship ones (except gaming, as cheap Android mostly equipped with low-end SoC which had crappy GPU that's only suitable for daily task; utube, Social media, taking photo/video, listening music, etc.)

If u know a bit of psychology, u'll know this without even thinking.
In early 2000, devices using Android OS are only good when u get high-end ones, as low-end ones has really crappy SoC & RAM, not to mention meager ROM.
When Xiaomi & many other Chinese phone makers go international on 2014, the surge of 'cheap but reliable' Android devices turned the table completely; people started wondering whether 'expensive' top-tier Android flagship worth the money, since Chinese counterpart able to offer devices with 'cutthroat' prices, including flagship-killer devices which sold one third to half the price of top flagship devices (with only 200 ~ 400$ you could get Chinese flagship killer devices).

Then, with the advancement of techology, even cheap SoC, like Helio G70 is great enough to handle quite a lot of tasks (including playing graphic-demanding games).

This is the answer to ur 'provocative but stupid' question.

You don't need to use Widgets or App gallery so what's the problem? :) I have never understood widgets because they just takes space from app icons which i open daily, but i found app library a very handy feature. I have like 160 apps and most of them are ones which i use very rarely. Now i can hide all them to App library to make my homescreen look more clean. They aren't on my homescreens anymore, but when i need them they are still in my phone for easy access.

I do not like IOS 14. Yes, I know, is just couple of days since released.
But just updated my iphone SE 1st gen to IOS 14 and I do not like the widgets and app library. They are useless to me as they were on my Android phones. I do not know why Apple wanted to copy this from Android. The best thing about IOS was that it was different from Android (I liked all my apps to be on the home screen). Without widgets, app drawer, custom launchers, etc.
Also, the battery drain is more faster now. And I have a 100% battery health (new battery). Initially on IOS 13, I had 5.5h of screen on time. Now I get 4-4.5h. Of course, this is too early to make a review, but still, it doesn't look promising. I lost about 13% of battery on stand by during the night. And before I lost 5% at most.

Hmm, 17 Sep 2020We i hope so, but why indexing take many days to perform it's task. It mainly works in the background when you don't use the phone. Especially when plugged in. Imagine having 5000 photos/videos. The AI algorithm will have to scan and process all media to determine what's what, put them in albums, update Siri about them etc. Same for contacts, files, all databases etc.
Also all apps are rewriting their cache. It's normal in all iOS updates. Has been for years. iPhones rely heavily on cache (both files and memory cache) so this process is important.

Sorry, but iOS feels like a $1000 ecosystem.

                              1. Battery health will still be great even after few years use under careful use. Seen many frequently used secondhand iPhone XR/XS still having 95% above battery health. If the battery does deteriotate, it's easy to replace. iFixIt gives a 6 rating for iPhone (the best for flagship).

                              2. iOS does not throttle your phone. It's just the same from iOS 13 to 14.

                              3. Apps work as usual, even less popular apps despite OS upgrade.

                              4. Old iPhone 6s has nearly the same features as iPhone 11 Pro, just slower because it's running on old chipset.

You can't even handle that $1000 premium ecosystem. You can keep your fake OnePlus or plastic Realme.
