Bud, 20 Sep 2020I voted YES, but it's too expensive. If there was an option 'YES, but too expensive&... moreI keep reading that this phone is too expensive...compared to what? OnePlus is charging 800 - 900, Samsung has a phone for 2 thousand dollars...and their "regular" Ultra phones are 1400.00...
Don't get me wrong...I hate these high prices the same as anyone else!
But this phone costs no more than any other one with similar specs.
Hardware Hypervisor, 20 Sep 2020I don't understand the excitement around this phone when Samsung Galaxy S20 is a better c... moreI disagree. Does the Samsung have FRONT FACING stereo speakers? Nope
Does the Samsung have a notification LED? Nope
Does the Samsung have the ability to bypass the battery thereby drawing power directly through the USB port during long term use? Nope
Does the Samsung have a PROPER top bezel wherein all the necessary sensors can be housed like ALL cell phones should have? Nope
I'm sure I could come up with more reasons but I think I have proved my point!
For me...NO Samsung phone even comes close.
LOL, 20 Sep 2020Sony camera sensors can be found in most brands of smartphones, you don't need to own a S... moreYes it is true. But remember Sony will never give the latest and best camera tech to competitors to make their phones. This is the advantage of Sony phones. Sony will offer the latest camera tech in their Sony flagship phones only. That is why photos taken on Sony phone cameras are so good. But hardware is 50% of good photos another 50% is good camera software in phones. Without it you will not get the best photos. So ask youself if competitors have this software and look what software "Sony Xperia 1 ii" (Mark 2) has to offer.
Anders, 21 Sep 2020Poco F2 Pro? You can get that for €500 I agree the Note20 is a joke thoughPoco F2 is not even a match. It has poor build quality. No Gorilla glass 6, no water proof, no 120Hz, No HDR display, No 4K HDR recording, 5MP telephoto is a big joke. How can you even compare this with Xperia 5 II lol. Poco F2 might be value for the price for 500$ but nowhere near flagship range.
Anders, 21 Sep 2020£900 for an only 1080p display is ridiculous. If it was £600 then it would be good. But it... moreYou got to keep in mind that not all screen resolutions can keep up high refresh rates and 1080p seems to be sweet point for high refresh rate look at asus rig 3 and note 20 ultra both reaches the 120+ with 1080p. You got to think also higher refresh and resolution the more power you consume. Plus 5 has Sd 865 along with 8 gb ram, storage 128 Gb with the extra stuff it brings. It has pretty good array of cameras. For package it pretty good. Plus I don't believe any 765sd phones that isn't one plus has offered 120+ hz refresh.
It is! I wanted smaller phone with 3.5mm that has great camera and no notch screen ! They would destroy competition if they only made some similar but cheaper model with Snapdragon 765 or 730g processor.
Shanti Dope, 20 Sep 2020It's just those stubborn manufacturers' absurd excuse to sell wireless earbuds that ... moreWhich manufacturer gave that as an excuse, or you just content on lying. I know that space was mentioned, but never heard of water resistance. Quote your credible source.
The aspect ratio is terrible. 5 minutes after you buy this phone you will spend all your time wondering why so little fits on your screen despite that it's "6.1 inch". the keys on your keyboard will tip you off: tiny because - like everything else - they are scaled relative to the screen's width. you get the extra screen size in the place it matters least: on the far edge of the screen where it only provides some near useless scroll space. Scaling-wise, this screen is worse than an old 5 inch phone, like going back to the Samsung S3 era. watching 16:9 videos will feel like you're back in 2012. And if you hold the phone in portrait mode with any regularity, expect even more frustration.
PetalPax, 21 Sep 2020Personally, I owned a Xiaomi phone. I am definitely saying you, DONT buy a Xiaomi. I had a K20... morePolicy of Huawei and other chinese crap is they integrate hidden design flaws/measures which make sure ur mistake is not foregone/forgiven. Headphone jack will make sure water goes to PCB and hits GSM modem chip is nearest to that to sting it 1st hand.

I had a K20 (SD730, Fullscreen 1080p display etc) but the performance was worse than my phone before that (Moto One Power SD636).
I think with Xiaomi, due to the poor quality control, it is more like lottery. If everything works well, consider yourself lucky.
Me, I will be sticking to Sony, Apple, Samsung, LG etc. henceforth.
pan, 21 Sep 2020wow... actually, i liked this kind of comment better where you mention phones you have, i thou... moreSignature of LG has been "waterproofing for the masses" their budget phones are waterproof too. The reason they are not climbing market share is their ugly back. Remember it is the back which is projected to everyone as front when u r listening phone. 2nd reason of not climbing is their week software house. They have no muscle like Winpho had MS softwarehouse muscle, sony with PS operating system (software house) muscle, Bravia and QN1 DSPs, Samsung has flagship DSPs too, also catching up in software dept with OneUI. LG has not tech demonstration platform.
Anonymous, 21 Sep 2020Still laughing at the fact that 'features' that were standards decades ago like jack... moreThat's why there are different phones. Then something like a 4a would be perfect for you. Basic storage, basic features, good camera software, and midrange hardware. No reason to pay an arm and a leg if you only browse and listen to spotify or something anyway.
Anders, 21 Sep 2020£900 for an only 1080p display is ridiculous. If it was £600 then it would be good. But it... moreDon't forget it is coming with SD865 and has 5G. No one will give you with such specs for 600$. Not even chinese has any smartphone with similar specs. So stop crying.
Plus it has no plastic back like Note 20 1000$ lmao.
£900 for an only 1080p display is ridiculous. If it was £600 then it would be good. But it's way overpriced
L.O.R.D, 21 Sep 2020Never had a Xiaomi or Realme, and have bought so many phones so far, I don't even remembe... morewow... actually, i liked this kind of comment better where you mention phones you have, i thought i have a "weird" choice since most of my age doesnt have a brand i own... i seldom see people using them
i also never had xiaomi and realme, they are good though, "high spec, low price" they go for quantity, many people buy them and when one is broken, they look for other people having some reusable part... they flood the market even more than galaxy phones...
at my end, i have xperias, lgs, nokias, lenovos, cloudfone, firefly mobile, asus zenfone and fonepad, alcatel...
so far the best i have are nokia 909, sony xperia z5 premium and xz2 compact...
as for how i see the recent unveiling of phones, i was hyped by xperia 1ii, since i expected 5ii to use lower resolution display... the lg wing, where at first i never thought that it can have a lot of use cases, the gimbal mode amazed me... not hyped anymore with folds and flips...
as for most chinese manufacturers, i think more "features" will trickle down to midrangers then to entry levels... some are already hyping some entry levels as "gaming phone" due to mediatek g series... material build and longevity of device is not priority at that price range as more people buying such will change phones a year after or less, anyway... but some of those device or those approaching the midrange price already have adaptive charging, so it can last 2-3 years or even more... but of course, cutting corners is evident, not that obvious to most users, or at least not a deal breaker...
Never had a Xiaomi or Realme, and have bought so many phones so far, I don't even remember all of them. Have used at least 4 Xperia phones, and several Zenfone, Motorola, Nokia phones over the years, currently have six devices, so now am I eligible to comment here ?
FFF, 21 Sep 2020I was basically expecting this in the last FIVE YEARS or so...but it's too far priced for... moreWhy? Because that would be too logical and too good, which would cannibalize the more expensive models. We have to pay for "features" we don't need or want.
