As Exynos will no longer have the pricey mongoose core, with the spare money I believe the GPU will have more core and will be able to compete against Adreno.

Using 1 X1 core will have many advantages. For example High single core score and better efficiency.
I was saying 2 X1 core is possible as Samsung is used to using 2 power core in their SoC. So, it would be easier for them to use 2 X1 core.
About gaming CPU usage, most high end games use only around 60% of CPU power. CPU power was never a concern for gaming to those who knows about it.

If you want to learn from history then that shows that exynos was superior for many years. 8 gens. Qualcomm for 3.
So with samsung switching back to arm cores giving both chips similar cpu and manufacturing.... do tell where history is supposed to show us otherwise.

S875 may have a slight gpu lead. But what other major differences will there be?
Use your brain. Same cores and same manufacturing process. Obviously there will be different parts and designs. But the cpu and efficiency based on past and current knowledge should be very much on par.

From s1 to s8 exynos was overall superior. Usually in combinations of cpu, efficiency, and audio. Even gpu in at least 4 of those.
The only reason that even changed for the past 3 gens is because samsung started design custom large cores which takes a few years to get under control. It took apple some time.
Heck Qualcomm got thrown behind a couple years just because they prematurely released an 8 core.
Now that samsung is going back to arm cores the snapdragon will at max match it. That's just simple fact and logic whether you like it or not.

on paper, upcoming exynos and snapdragon should be identical in CPU performance and power consumption because both use the same core and configuration, both probably have different clock speed and that will make difference but it will be close. snapdragon will have advantage on GPU performance vs mali on exynos as usual until exynos use radeon gpu.
but let see if exynos ISP still as garbage like on 990 and its CPU scheduler system still awful ever since Exynos 9810

Oh, great. With the X1 core inside the next high-end Exynos, it’s sure to be a fire hazard. The 990 can barely run at full load without melting.
I’m excited for the Snapdragon 875, though. But we already knew that it would be using the X1 core, for a few months now.
