smart4ss, 18 Sep 2020What? I have a GTR 47mm and the battery lasts around 20-22 days and the sun visibility is good. 5 days with AOD between 7-20 at GTR 42mm, I guess with the huge one it could be double, so 10 days, nonetheless that's only using it for measuring heart rate every ten minutes and checking notifications, if i were to use GPS battery life would drop drastically

and as I said that AOD is useless on sunny day outside

good old Bip where I had to turn on backlight only in dark evenings with AOD 24/7 could last easily 4-5 weeks while providing exactly same functionality, sorry better functionality, it could actually display content of SMS so I could easily type verification code on computer without having to touch smartphone

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2020The older Amazfit trackers have been rated poorly for accuracy by most serious sports reviewer... moreThe only reason I can see why people buy Amazfit is because of its crazy long battery life. But when it comes to accuracy, even Fitbit does it a lot better. In fact, it was because of Fitbit's accuracy that I sold the Amazfit that I got as a gift and ended up with the Inspire HR.

The older Amazfit trackers have been rated poorly for accuracy by most serious sports reviewers, so I'd take the claims "better than Apple" with a large grain of salt.

Especially since there is no mention of First Beat license, which helped the accuracy of some of the previous Amazfit models.

moderaw, 18 Sep 2020What country is Amazfit from?Amazfit is owned by Huami, and is the exclusive provider of wearable technology for Xiaomi (mostly on its software). Its a US based company, but owned by Huami (China, bigger share partner)

In other words, the full name of this wearables are actually 'Huami Xiaomi Amazfit GTR'. Quite a mouthful. 😅

I have GTR, don't buy it, display is unreadable in sunlight, only two noncustomizable AODs, both pretty much useless and unreadable in sunglight (why not black and white, but different unreadable colors?), underwhelming battery, can't display content of SMS without 3rd party app, etc.

If I knew what I know now, I'd rather stick with Amazfit Bip.
