I think a little bit less black is a great tradeoff for longer battery life.

Samsung (and TCL) use quantum dots, Sony uses PFS Phosphor, LG uses it‘s proprietary Nano technology. All of them are basically wide color gamut displays.
And TCL combines miniLED and quantum dot on the 6 and 8 series.
Today, only the low end models of companies don‘t have a wide color gamut, even though they achieve it in different ways. Samsung also uses Phosphor on its TU8500, but quantum dot of the higher end QLED range, while the TU8000 and TU7000 don‘t have a wide color gamut.

It‘s not far easier to run iOS, they are similar today. Apple‘s SoCs are just better. Please go to YouTube, type „Gary Explains“ and watch.

Apple won't use a phone SoC on their high end iPad lineup and they shouldn't.
