The point of FE is to compete with previous flagships on the discounted/2nd hand market.

Let's say you bought S20/20+ for $1000 and now want to sell it or you have been waiting for S20/20+ to drop to $600-700. Now Samsung released FE with higher margins to compete with its own 6-months-old phones so new buyers will have to pick between "old" S20 or the new FE

A modified Samsung flagship with midrange cameras and 1080p HRR screen is pretty much my idea of the ideal future upgrade from my A70 when the time comes. The naming system is extremely weird, but if this is the niche they're going for I am in the market for it. (I also considered the A90 before the A70 before a Black Friday deal on the latter tipped my purchase, and that was the same sort of package but as a powered-up A rather than an economy S.)

Just a rubbish way of rebranding a "pro" version. More marketing crap.

I don't know what stopped them from continuing the old mini line. Especially now. A mini line version could use a snapdragon 765 and a even 5.5 amoled. It's an obvious opportunity there. Many customers want an upper mid-range phone experience at an affordable price in a more compact design from the world's highest selling smartphone manufacturer. I can't understand why samsung has chosen to ignore the obvious success of the Iphone SE 2020. A more compact phone.

Can somebody explain to me the point of this FE version?
Why is Samsung polluting the flagship segment with more unnecessary devices?
Already there are 3 different models of S series, 2 different models for Note series.
Then there is the Note series Lite and S series Lite.
            Goddamn!

Dont think there will be a Note 20 FE. I guess going forward the base model will be similar to the FE model (going by Note 20 way). May be iphone way as well

I can't imagine the power delivery will be as good as partner models, but their own cooling has definitely improved since Thermi.

"Let’s see what the Note20 FE will bring"

Honestly, the vanilla Note 20 (Exynos) is already "FE" except its price.
