*sounds of google swirling down the drain*
pesches132, 25 Sep 2020Just compare it with Pixel 4 and you will probably change your mind haha.Pixel 4 is an year old, so the software support is also an year less. Additionally it will not have 5G support.
There might be other improvements in Pixel 5 too. I am not outright supporting Google's decision, but let's wait and watch, perhaps there is something that might make it worth the money.
are they crazy? might aswell buy a samsung then...
This is like Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra,1 looks overpriced compared to the other but in reverse for Pixel 4a 5g and Pixel 5. I see Google has been taking notes from Samsung LOL.
Google is a super rich company. And Google is filled with elite people who allegedly want "redistribution of wealth" of super rich people. If they really think so, how about starting that with redistributing their own wealth by not overpricing the Pixel phone? $700 for a thing that is destined to be obsolete in 3 years?
PetalPax, 25 Sep 2020For the excellent camera, IP rating, wireless charging, clean software, 3 years OS updates $70... moreAgreed. Mainly because the landscape of 'flagships' have gotten to expensive because of 5G I'm okay with everything I can get for $700. As long as there is wireless charging and a 90hz screen
i dont see it as an overpriced phone, i see it as a refresher of the premium line they have, i probably change my 2 XL to a 5 because of the battery and the performance ive seen with the new android 11, everyone complaining is a pricy phone are the same that buy overprice iphones
Why not google give sd 865 at 800 bucks? That seems better deal atleast, it will have something flagshipy then, at 700,sd 765 is a joke
For the first time I would rather buy iPhone 12.
For the excellent camera, IP rating, wireless charging, clean software, 3 years OS updates $700 does not seem to be such a bad price...but I guess I am in minority.
AHAHA Google really think people gonna buy a mid-range Android instead of an iPhone 12 FOR THE SAME PRICE ?!
I'm still rocking the Pixel 2. Been a huge phone of this phone since I got it and considered upgrading (finally) to the 5 but was waiting for the official specs and cost to be released. $700 for a mid-level chip, however, is a no for me. I'll wait for the OnePlus 8T. Better specs all around.
Do not forget the pixel core chip. The a model pixels usually do not come with that chip. The 5 will. Meaning the camera performance will be much better in the 5
This is not going to sell well... They added a marginally faster 5G chipset, 2GB extra ram, 90Hz refresh and an ultrawide camera that most people won't use for $350 over the Pixel 4a. I love my Pixel 4a, this 5 already seems like a horrific value proposition.
$500/€500/£500 - this is total bullshit. I hate when companies do that, which means every goddamn time.
YUKI93, 25 Sep 2020If the Pixel 4a 5G has the same exact camera setup and sensor module as the Pixel 5, why bothe... moreGorilla glass, 2GB more RAM, IP68, and a better ultrawide cam (16MP vs the 4a's 8MP). To me, it doesn't matter as much either.
lpl, 25 Sep 2020Why is everyone so surprised all of a sudden? A 630euro price was already mentioned weeks ago? They have to keep publishing news articles to earn money
Pixel 5 = $700
Velvet = more than $700
HMD 8.3 = 600 euros
And I still read comments that say Sony should charge about $800 for 5ii.
