Sony Z Ultra is my fav. phone ever. I still have 2 of those. I would buy it again with modern hardware.
I miss big phones with 16:9 screen aspect ratio. I hate those tall phones.
Aughhhh my first smart phone. I finally had a job that paid me almost enough money to warrant buying this massive phone. I loved you so!

IF you had this phone then you loved it! It was special, I enjoyed my time using it. The camera was good too for that time, though that front camera wasn't it. The split screen was awesome too. I enjoyed a lot of media and browsing. No regrets even though I originally wanted a note 3 but couldn't afford it.
I remember this one, two of my friends in the class had one each and it became an instant class favourite since it was, well, huge, which often being used for watching movies and stuff together. I personally didn't bat an eye since it's a mid-ranger and more interested in another friend's Note II.

I still have the phone, it is used at home to stream Netflix and Amazon, the giant still works, all functions are working as designed.
This was the only phone I ever busted a screen on. Holding it with one hand wasn't a problem, operating was.
i used to have one of these mega 6.3's and i loved it. in 2013 there was not much big screen phones arround so it was a real show off to had that ( feel silly now ). and got it stolen and had to go through a police case
Reminds me of the era when Samsung phones used to be all the same looking, boring designs and plastic body with a white or blue colour mostly, until the arrival of S6 which had a changed design (glass and metal) and finally Samsung phones had a premium apperance. Well there was a Galaxy Alpha before the S6 that looked somewhat premium but the S6 was unlike anything the company has made and was quite well recieved for it's design
AnonD-948658, 28 Sep 2020Thanks a lot. That website is amazing. I calculated the screen height and width for some of th... more100% agreed.
I too had a similar realization recently. I still daily drive a Lenovo Z2 Plus(Zuk Z2), which I feel is one of the best, relatively modern(SD 820) compact 16:9 device.
But then I fell in love with the Xperia 5 II, only to realise that it has nearly the same width(~1mm), so most videos(16:9) would take up the same area and look just as small even though the 5 II has a 1" bigger screen then mine. And cropping in would severely cut out the watchable content (especially due to that 21:9 screen), which I hate. Even though I love the 5 II(apart from the price), this one thing really put me off.
I still feel that 18:9 is a good compromise.
Good old days
