I wish samsung would bring in a similar mid tier phone maybe older SD855 or 765G with at least 7.2inch screen with wide aspect ratio of 16:9 not the skinny phones of late, they are just useless especially when you are reading large text that involves continuous scrolling.
A similar sized with Aspect ratio as the Huawei Mate 20x 5G but with at least 5500 Mah battery would be Perfect; I would buy one immediately!

It's still a big phone in 2020. It is equivalent of 7.5" phone in 20:9 ratio with same width at 3.1"

We don't see any video with an odd aspect ratio. It's either TV format 16:9 or cinematic 21:9, that's it. No 19:9 or 19.5:9 or 20:9 nonsense.

YouTube and Netflix are laughing at you. Oh btw, ever wondered why laptop screen is still using that so-called "outdated" aspect ratio?

I definitely miss this kind of screen size with a proper 16:9 aspect ratio. It makes watching YouTube so much better than using a screen with tall aspect ratio.

Sean, 27 Sep 2020http://screen-size.info/ Quite a lot, check for yourselfThanks a lot. That website is amazing. I calculated the screen height and width for some of the current phones -

H,W and A stand for Height, Width and Area in Portrait mode.

Google Pixel 4a (5.81” 19.5:9), iPhone 11 (6.1” 19.5:9) OnePlus Nord (6.44” 20:9)

H 5.3 W 2.4 = A 12.72
H 5.5 W 2.6 = A 14.3
H 5.9 W 2.6 = A 15.34

iPhone 8 Plus (5.5” 16:9) and Xperia 1 ii (6.5” 21:9)

H 4.8 W 2.7 = A 12.96
H 6.0 W 2.6 = A 15.6

I watch a lot of 16:9 content and I always thought the Plus variants iPhone 6/6s/7/8 will display it the largest compared to modern phones. But looks like iPhone 11, Nord and Xperia 1 ii all have roughly the same width so 16:9 content should look roughly the same size when not cropped in.

Samsung Galaxy A71 (6.7” 20:9) has

H 6.1 W 2.7 = A 16.47

It matches iPhone 8 Plus width but has a substantial taller screen. Both will show same sized 16:9 content but A71 show bigger content for any other type.

Google Pixel 4a seems the odd one here with a screen that noticeable less wide. In fact it is similar to iPhone SE (2020) width

iPhone SE (4.7” 16:9) and Google Pixel 4a (5.81” 19.5:9)

H 4.1 W 2.3 = A 9.43
H 5.3 W 2.4 = A 12.72

So 16:9 look more or less the same on both.

To me OnePlus Nord looks like has the best balance between screen size and portability.

I had the 5.8 one. It was just a different experience back then. A thing to show off 😂. Recently replaced the battery, and working perfectly till now.

Samsung Galaxy W.

That's the Samsung phone that even gsma has forgotten. 7 inch screen and not a tablet.

I was a proud owner of the Samsung galaxy Mega 5.8! I am a Samsung fan through and through. Has Corby 2 before this.
It was a great phone back in the day. Battery was a bit challenging though.
After this, J7 and then J7 PRO. Then the A8 plus. Now a Note 10 since a year. All brand new phones bought immediately upon their release. However, I must say that somehow I have a feeling that the A8 plus with it's 6" screen resembled my earlier 5.8.

Mage is only 6.3" screen while Note 10+ is 6.8" screen.
You should not miss it because it is better to watch movies and videos with Note 10+!

I loved my mega. Frankly, phones are too small now... even my duo is. They need to start making tru phablets in the 7 inch range. I had no problem with the 7 inch kindles for example. If they made a similar tablet, with phone, and especially if they did a surface duo type pairing of that screen, it would be my ideal 1 stop device
