Some guy was saying that he heared from somewhere that HTC would release the proprietary drivers and kerner source 3.0 for our DHD.

If this is try then we will have ICS fully working ..unofficial though but working smooth and stable!

P.S. Just wait a few weeks, thats what the guy was saying (of course this might be a troll but who know, we will see in a few weeks)

This means no (Key Lime Pie android 4.2) for One X and One S. This is a huge disappointment for HTC fans like myself.. i wanted to buy One X, now im afraid they won´t release updates beyond 4.1 Jelly Bean .

Rooted mine (eventually) with the Advanced Ace Hack Kit and I'm now running Ice Cold Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) with no problems at all (Well, the market sometimes thinks apps are not compatible. Easy to do and MUCH better than 2.3.5
Yes, I'm gutted that HTC didn't release an update but I respect their decision not to. At least there are alternatives out there that are just as good :)

well, seemed like that's the best HTC company can do for Desire HD phones. very sad to hear that from a very competetive company. well maybe that's their way of treating loyal HTC customers. "no more upgrades, more disapointed customers." good strategy HTC!

HTC should understand the needs of their customers from the products they offer by providing continouos upgrades, that way we feel that we are valued. consistency is what we're looking for.

years from now, new HTC phones will likely to have the same problem. Feels so bad, and it keeps me away from buying new handset from HTC.

HTC, you broke my heart.

What is interesting however, Vodafone in Australia already received the 4.0 ROM from HTC, however rejected it because it didn't pass regulations. If it had passed, the 4.0 update would have been released to the Australian vodafone DHD

From the FAQ at http://www.htc.com/sea/help/android4faq/

"In general, devices with 512MB ROM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.0. These devices include the HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Explorer, HTC Desire HD and others."

HTC Desire HD has less than 512 MB ROM? Really? Can't they use more of the internal space instead?

shitty htc. Even desire Z, one of the few keyboard equipped androids, won't have officially ics.

Come on guys, please you all use your common sense. Be polite, This news is rubbish and not true. For your kind information webiste "http://www.unwiredview.com/" and "http://blog.htc.com" are not officially HTC websites. So don't believe on that type of rubbish news which are totally fake. Just be calm and wait. HTC will definitely update Desire HD to ICS 4.0.

Why Why Why HTC beeing so cruel, DHD is more than capable of running ICS

At least "leak" the parts(drivers, e.g. camera driver, kernel 3.0 etc) needed to make ICS custom working fully on our phones

You know... leak it somehow ...htc personel problem and that "cover ups" :P

WE NEED ICS!
