If you want latest technology you have to pay high.

Their market share is in large part due to their growth in China over the year. And you are wrong. China hae banned most Google services from their country a long while back and Chinese people and Chinese phones sold in the country have been coming without Google Play services for years now. Nothing has changed for them.
Because of 5G and coronavirus.

Samsung mid-range phones increase prices in 2020, but they are using the same components and chipsets like in 2019.
Some entry level phones released in 2020 with SD665 (which is what, a 2 year old chipset), but they cost more in 2020.
Bottom line is, is not only about components (as shown from my examples). Some phones have similar components like 1 or 2 years before, still their prices slightly increased in 2020. Because, why not.
[deleted post]Hahaha... True.. We even went to change.org for reducing the price of redmi k20. They just look at numbers. Will get only junk phones with high end specifications for cheap price. It is just number & price comparison.
Interesting question,
Does this show phones rising in prices or the US$ falling in value?
Brrrrr....
[deleted post]I agree. And they even find mi 9t expensive when it's literally the best affordable 2020 midranger that costs just ard US$300.

Extremely ridonculous of people to buy a Huawei smartphone which lacks Google Play Services (including Google Play Protect) or any other tough security measure. I am predicting a huge regret incoming for buyers who purchased a Huawei smartphone.

Ppl want better products, but for same price.
Funny. Lol there are better products at lower price
Company just become greedy and just say better product mean higher price
Look at pc side, home internet side, mostly getting cheaper
Now when u don't have rival( i.e. Graphic card in pc, cpu in mobile) they skyrocketed the price)

- ddr5 is 25% more expensive than ddr4x
- there are image sensors that cost more than $35 per unit.
- curves, notch and hole make screen more expensive than its flat uncut screen version.
- ufs3.0/3.1 cost more than 2.1
- phones are bigger and use more external materials
- larger screens cost more
Add software costs and other stuff .......
[deleted post]CPU gets more expensive.
Better cameras.
Faster storage with more capacity.
Faster ram with more GB.
More battery + faster charging (using even two batteries)
Newer software features.
Faster connectivities
Of course price is going to increase. I wonder if ppl that complain have their own business and let costumers decide how much they should price their products or if they charge what they want ...
Are phones too expensive? Yes.
Can I pay $1200? No
I can wait price drops to half in 12 months or just do not buy.
I think it is dumb to buy new phone every 6 or 12 months.
Not have latest components or android version does not make any phone obsolete and useless.
It is annoying those comments: " This should be $800, not $1300". " Oh, it has Snapdragon 6xx series, it cannot be above $300 no matter what phone brings." , " I can get midrange with SD865 for this price".
Anonymous, 26 Sep 2020Components get more expensive . Ppl want better products, but for same price. Funny. Ah yes, components get more expensive. That explains it. Nothing to do with markup and brand name of the product, right?
When it says globally is that globally As in geographically all countries our globally as in outside of China because if Huaweis on 20% and that's not including China then trump must be internally raging as to how and why they're still doing good
The only explanation I can see for them to release six months old data from the start of the pandemic is because someone needed a synthetic confidence boost.
Rise them more, cuz there are many fools waiting to buy them.

Funny.
Only because consumers actually purchase the phones at their marked up MSRP. If they didn't, then manufacturers would be forced to lower their prices and phones would be more affordable. Alas, consumers don't realize the power they hold.
Samsung: you're welcome
