Well, I'm an owner of HTC Incredible S which received the official 4.0.4 update a week ago. I have been using an AOKP build for all this time because I love the simplicity of it. But still I decided to install that official update and see how good it is.
I'm really disappointed. It is slow and Sense 3.6 simply doesn't give a feeling of Ice Cream Sandwich. It feels more like Gingerbread but with several UI tweaks. It's really heavy. HTC has to make their UI more light...
But it's really great that we received that update, because.. you know.. source codes for the kernel will be available soon.
lol!Pathetic WP fanatics, after 7.8,what's next for you? This phone can be rooted to ICS 4.0 and next JB 4.1:) Bwahahaha!
Android is not that good in servicing older models..
bad customer service support HTC...
Apple is much better there in terms of device serviceability, iOS 6 can still support up to the iPhone 3GS.
Piss Droids, 23 Jul 2012Thats what you get Android Fanboys!!! "I'll never buy anything from HTC" Then... moreJump to the next brand. There is always an alternative in android market, unlike Blackbarry and Apple.
Thats what you get Android Fanboys!!!
"I'll never buy anything from HTC"
Then what happens when Samsung does the same thing *AGAIN*?
"I'll never buy Samsung again" lol
you guys are pathetic droid fans
Considering the phone is over a year and a half old, I guess it's not too bad..
I am Desire HD user and Disappointed
I will never buy htc devices anymore
I agree with HTC. I have an Incredible S and I received the ICS upgrade couple of weeks ago. I can clearly say it slowed down my phone.
I don't think anyone would like that. I don't see a big difference in GB and ICS in my phone..so why getting it slowed down ?
i am very disappointed to see that HTC desire HD was removed from ICS update. I will never buy HTC phone again.
It's like saying that the Incredible S & Desire S will neither get an ICS update too. These 3 has an identical specs, though the HD has more rom.
I'm really disappointed with htc. If ur not gonna release an official ics update, at least release the source code for the kernel and let the great developers on xda do their magic.
Well, that has now decided my next phone. Contract runs out in 2 months; next phone will now be the Samsung S3. One X was on the cards, but this had made my decision easy. No more HTC.
Wow what a relief... Luckily I did not get the HTC Desire HD a couple of years ago, else I would have had to go thru all this.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
Anonymous, 23 Jul 2012This is why you wait for WP8. Guaranteed at least 18 months of software updates.no! this is why you buy a nexus phone!
Just goes to show that if you want the best Google mobile experience get a Nexus anything else is just not guaranteed go updates on time with no fuss.
even the old nexus s is running jellybean already. and it's an official jellybean rom, not ported, OFFICIAL. my friend is getting a galaxy nexus instead of one x
