Though I seriously think that Samsung's FE is closer to what many would prefer. In fact, between the two, there is a potential for a fine Pixel. Snapdragon 8 series chip, decent UFS storage, wireless charging, reverse too, 18w power, greater than 4000mA battery, flat screen, normal and ultra wide cams. If they'd only got together, and made it.

Samsung S20 FE 5G or Google Pixel 5? Which one to buy?

I also really like the design. It's clean, straight to the point and the matte finish doesn't attract fingerprints. If the overall foootprint of the Pixel 5 resembles the size of the Pixel 4a, I'd really consider it. The comparison with the 5.4" iPhone 12 will be interesting.

I actually dig the design. Probabilly those HTC guys in the team suggested the metal build. What a great surprise to see it finally making a comeback after all these glass sandwiches.

Wtf is that design? Google have given up.

"Pixel phone in a row to use the same resolution "
They use the same resolution since the Nexus 5x. The camera hardware also doesn't really capture more light per time than the Nexus 5x. The Pixel 4 only captures 9% (!!) more light per time than the Nexus 5x, that's nothing (even 100% more light would have been only a small improvement, a Xiaomi Note 10 captures three times as much light per time as a Pixel 4). The Nexus 5x captures the same amount of light per time as the Pixel 3.

Also no malicious pre installed apps that can't be removed. I've an Android One phone running 10 and it's pretty close to what Google offers on their phones

"thanks to Google’s machine learning optimizations"
This had basically nothing to do with machine learning. Google uses machine learning for making faces brighter (since I think the Pixel 3), for digital zoom (since the Nexus phones, but more aggressively since the Pixel 3), for perspective distortion correction (since the Pixel 3 as far as I know) and it uses machine learning for the default white balance since the Pixel 4 (which is worse than the previous white balance). Otherwise the look of their jpgs has nothing to do with machine learning. Google's jpgs looked the best with the Nexus 5x and Pixel 1 (both in the non-default HDR+ On mode).

Voila it's out of sight and out of mind. Is that something to really complain about? The Nord is a much better option.

On the Nord for example, you cannot remove Facebook services. You can't use that as a reliable price benchmark.

Besides, bugs will be patched and there's absolute guarantee that you'll get to upgrade to the next iteration of Android on the day it's launched. That's the appeal of Google devices, not the myriad of subpar camera sensors.
