Keep using ancient 18w charging. Soon Sony will copy the Chinese fast charging tech, give it their own unique name and brand boys will call it innovation.

I do not have any problem with the brand please do not get me wrong, it is simply that I do not really trust them, they are a young company and there are other things as well. For example Huawei is a whole different story, I own a Huawei and I love it.
GreekEnthusiast, 30 Sep 2020What is bigger? Xiaomi(+Redmi+Poco) or Oppo+Realme+Vivo+iQoo+OnePlus? It is not only about who is bigger. Realme is not a huge company. Oppo is NOT Realme. Realme is NOT OnePlus, these are different companies, different people behind them. Xiaomi is bigger than Realme. Xiaomi has 10 years of experience.
iOS Never Again, 30 Sep 2020Your entire logic is based on : Tech introduced by Big Company = Good, reliable, no issues.... moreI am using a Huawei, yet you really misunderstanding me and saying I hate every Chinese brand. This was not so nice from you you know. When somebody is saying his opinion you should not attack it like that. We are all different. You see in a certain way, I am seeing in another way. If I remember I was mentioning Xiaomi's 65 W Fast charger that it will kill faster the battery(there where some articles about that). And I was saying if the capacity is double in Realme's case, it could be worse than the one using by Xiaomi, but of course time will tell who is right or who is wrong, because nobody from us where there when the phone was made. You may have more faith(to put it that way) in the company than I have.

Independent testing proved battery degrades to 90% which is less degradation than any other regular phone after 800 cycles.
gizmochina.com/2020/05/13/oppos-40w-fast-wired-charging-degrades-battery-faster-than-15w-charging/
Your 18W charging phone drops to 90% after 400-500 cycles and drops to 80% after 800 cycles. Even with Oppo 125W charging, it is dropping to 80% after 800 cycles which is same as other phones with 18W charging.
Sony is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fast charging technology.

Understand the difference between USB PD and VOOC.
Samsung, Sony, Apple, LG are all behind Chinese brands in terms of fast charging technology. They are playing catchup in many departments to be honest.
I am using OP8 pro now. Used Galaxy note 9 and iPhone 11 pro Max before that.
So Don't be trying to put me into category of people who have never used anything beyond Chinese brands. Clearly you hate every Chinese brand and have zero experience using a phone with 65W fast charging.

Mobilemaster, 30 Sep 2020Even the 65 Watt charger from Xiaomi will "kill" your battery, then how about almost... moreIt's because in Realme phones, they have more than one battery. They are capable of double or quadruple the rate because the charger charges the two or four batteries simultaneously.
It can be charged at very high currents, but the phone hardly heats up.

If it's small and it's made of GaN, then I see that as an absolute win.
