Seems kind of too good to be true. Lower price always means sacrifices somewhere else.

Everyone in north america are afraid to review this laptop due to trump ban. every review i found (asian mainly)didn't dare to open the cover & look into the chassis. and sponsored well i think.

Don't make me buy it. :D My budget actually was 600€... morei think you should wait until the end of the year, as prices will drop for the end year sales. Looking at the free gift, i'm sure it will drop a lot at the end of the year. but if you need it now, just buy it lah

Just got mine yesterday and could not be more thrilled. No hardware or software issues and I have had a MSI and Lenovo laptops in the past that always had problems with their hinges and dim screens.

Why one would be happy with a high burst processing power which cannot be sustained for long due to heat dissipation and drains very fast the battery? Then how many know how or have time to tune the display colors? How many of us like the web camera to be so low positioned, when it is known the laptop video conferences are for job interviews and business meetings and the presentation or yourself with your nostrils bigger than your eyes will put off the HR and coworkers?

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2020You mean all the phone makers are switching to India, Thai, Viet... to reduce the reliance wit... more''are switching'', yet not switched. so we still dont know how it would end up. till now we don't find much Indian produced stuff unlike Chinse ones which means literally most of the electronic devices. I guess Indian products (manufactured) wont be that bad cause after all design would be from experienced companies.
Lenovo bought IBM laptop division that gives them a special edge no other company has. so stop comparing Huawei with Lenovo. some products of each batch might have some issues, there is no perfect product. but there would always be difference between a reliable and a crap.

I just ordered the Ryzen 7 version after your review allayed my concerns about possible keyboard quality. I am in the slow process of migrating from Mac OS X to Ubuntu and I will wipe Windows away. The other laptop in this class I was considering is the MSI Modern 14, which can be upped to a whopping 64GB of RAM, but doesn't seem to be available outside a handful of countries.

This is probably the best compact laptop on the market, next to the Lenovo carbon x1. Huawei share is amazing!

Experience does matter, and Lenovo did critical acquisitions such as the IBM units that made the Thinkpad (so they have top-tier business machines). They also have plentiful of experience as an OEM in designing and manufacturing laptops that then got sold under someone else's brand, so it is only logical they can now have matured products under their own brand.

Lenovo has more experience in producing laptops than Huawei or whatever Chinese brands you name. Samsung tried before and while they dominate smartphone markets, their laptop adventure wasn't successful. All phones are made in China, still iphones have better build quality than some craps. Time for you to come out of the other dimension you living in.
