I usually don't take side of Indian in bargaining but seriously this Google is too much.
First of all their devices are old fashioned with old specs n insane price tag.
Secondly they always release their phones in india after months of the official launch.. so obviously ppl end up buying other phones.
Yup those budget conscious buyers r fall under different category but there are tech enthusiastics who buy latest products even with higher prices. People here don't mind paying premium for good things.. that's why oneplus always focuses on india. Even iphone 11 nd se 2 were huge hits.
Even many ppl r rdy to pay 1000$ + for samsung but with Snapdragon processor.
Google Nexus devices were superhit but then many consumers reported issues with battery or display and even there are no sufficient service centers too.. that's why ppl lost der trust on Google. I really wouldn't mind if they take exit permanently from india.. I wish Huawei comes back as soon as Trump lost.

If it launches for 30000 inr, It will be a success. And I am planning to purchase. If they sell it for more than that, IPhone se2 will be a better option with wireless charging, ip certification, decent camera, better chipset and better software updates.

Imagine buying a phone with a Snapdragon 700 series processor at a ₹70k ($950) price tag. Pixel 5 simply cannot sell in India. Pixel isn’t even a premium brand to begin with. iPhone despite being the ultimate premium smartphone brand in India only has ~3% market share at most. Pixel 5 sales in India would be non-existent if they launch it here.

Pricing will be key to success of this phone in price conscious market like India ( though there are very few who go for pixels in India).

If it goes more than One+Nord in prices, then Indian buyers would not prefer pixel. Nord anyways is planning to launch a lite version of Nord and Nord with lower RAM and memory version in India and both of it would be around 20 to 25K.

And if Pixels cross mark of 35K, then Buyers would opt for iPhone SE.

It's very crucial for Google to decide it's price tag with great understanding and study of Indian buyers.

Not worth the effort imo. India is a very very small market for this price segment. But if the price is cut into half, then it is a big market. Still, it's a waste of time to sell this in India. Google better focus on Asia Pacific and Europe.

AnonD-948658, 01 Oct 2020I love this phone but it won’t be worth the price in India which I’m expecting to be ₹35k (~$480)Exactly. Considering Brand and excellent camera it is not worth more than Rs.32,500 ($440). Because Samsung's Galaxy A71 is at Rs.30,000 ($410) with same processor and more versatile camera and sAmoled display. Also Samsung's M51 is at Rs.25,000 ($350) with everything same as A71 but with bigger battery.

Why not launch the pixel 3a again in India since you have already decided one of the worlds' largest mobile phone market is not interested in pixels.
