It is only around US$110 in my country (brand new) and it has blown ALL the Beats released up to date.
I have ATH-M50x & personally compare it with Beats headphone display in Audio store (which means it has been burned), which priced more than 4x ATH-M50x, and it was really sucks; it was decent at most for watching movies, but absolutely not music.

Apple's policy since C(r)ook became the CEO is 'BoM (bill of material) as low as possible, profit as high as possible'.
The current Apple is depending on the 'trust' built by Jobs of 'Apple = quality', while in fact, most of their cost actually spent on marketing propaganda which, most of the time, are complete bullshit (high-quality BUT bendable ipad, sapphire lens which actually scratched, hoax better battery life for each new SoC (iphone 8 vs SE2), etc).
No audiophiles don't know how notorious Apple's 'accessories' qualities are;
Notoriously low-grade charging cable, ancient & low-grade 5w charger which BoM only cost $2~3, impossible to fix airpods battery which also have low-capacity, gimmicky expensive wireless charger, etc.

If they use some sort of proprietary wireless connection to get around the bandwidth limit over Bluetooth, a pair of 600 buck headphones is maybe justifiable. If they're limited to Bluetooth, this is going to be Apple's next big scam, because even if they would use drivers on par with other 600 buck headphones the real-world bandwidth is much lower than 16-bit lossless audio (taking real-world radio noise, you touching the antennae, etc. into account). You'd essentially pay a lot of money to appreciate better detail of digital noise.

For up to this price point you have so much different all types of headphones for what ever use you need. Never mind these dont look like they are built to be very strong and for now audio port to make them wired dont make these last long too. When it's battery will die out then the full headset is just paperweight. If you go for them for the design then you can even get same design or similar design for 1/3 of the price from some brand that is dedicated audio product.
But as it is Apple then these probably cost 60 euro and apple price them as 600 for maximum profit and world is full of these people who buy it just cause it's apple and they have too much money to actually care about the sound quality, product durability and how long it will last
