Apple in financial trouble? Since they had to choose 1, of the 2 things they clearly could use.

One thing Apple never choose: to lower the price.
You would think that including inferior hardware combo like 720p and 60Hz screen would lower the price down to $300.
But NO. The price of iPhone 12 increases from $700 to $800.

Cant believe $2 Trillion corporation pushed to make this ridiculous choice while entire tech industry across the aisle with fraction of its revenues and size happily embraced both and beyond at far less price points(nearly 100% cheaper in most cases).....

Can anyone enlighten me; why 60 and 120 Hz? why not 90 Hz? I think 90 is sweat spot for a handheld relatively small display device; don't you think? while 60 Hz is old (and Meh) and 120 Hz is a juice sucker...

                120Hz is actually a gimmick.

I have a S20 FE (5G) and barely use the 120Hz RR option. I leave it at medium power saving most of the time, at 60Hz RR only.

The case use scenario of 120Hz is limited tbh.

Gaming? Regular flagships struggle with 120fps gaming unless it's Subway Surfers or Temple Run (none of which ends up in my Samsung or iPhone). Only gaming phones can play at 120fps without any problems.

At least, Apple increased the display resolution of the iPhone 12 Pro. Not a deal-breaker and I still expect the iPhone to sell very well. 👍

Fanboys(whatever brand) stop justifying whatever the manufacturers throw at you. Question them or else they are never gonna get better. Ask for more and maybe u get more atleast in next/or the next release. Or these brands will only look to fill up their pockets

You'd expect a trillion dollar company won't compromise when making their flagships but that's not the case. If they were smart, they would've figured it out on how to solve this problem. Battery life was decent on the 2019 iPhones especially 11 Pro Max, 120 Hz isn't significant enough to drag the battery life to bad. iPad Pro has an option to limit frame rate to 60 Hz if battery life was such a concern. Many smartphone manufacturers have phones with 5G AND 120Hz OLED so why is Apple not joining in? Waiting for the technology to mature? If so, they wouldn't use the latest process node or have 4K60 recording which means Apple CAN be innovative. I'm not mad, just disappointed that there's another excuse to omit 120 Hz.

5g is useless feature right now , they should have made phone thicker and put bigger battery so they can implement 120hz , at this point iPhone 12 is just iphone 11s no huge upgrades at all

More nonsense from the world's greatest marketing company.

                              The reason they haven't included both are obvious;

                              - Apple has ALWAYS had poor battery life. Don't come at me with "My iPhone 7 still gets 15 hours of SOT and I've had it for three years". You're lying, straight up.

                              - They have no decent ideas of their own. They don't innovate, they just wait for others to do it and when it becomes standard and the technology becomes cheap, they finally adopt it and you lap it up like it's the greatest innovation you've ever seen.

                              - Their goal is to get as much money from you as humanly possible. That means piecemealing out tiny upgrades and stretching them thin so they can take as much money from you with as little effort as possible.

If you're seeing these reports and you're STILL buying this joke of a brand, you're cheating yourself. Just stop.

                                      Or

Remove accessories in the box to reduce costs.

And they choose to remove accessories so as not to increase the price (hopefully)

The MmWave, 5G, bigger sensor for cameras, better chip, better screen (Not 120hz though), new design, LIDAR all contribute to the raising of prices. So if they kept the prices same, it is great.

Removing accessories also means people's home would not be flooded with useless cables, chargers, bricks, accessories, etc

You can always just slap a 120hz display anytime, but it is important to take advantage of early adaptation of 5g. I think apple should have put both 5g and 120hz.
