Arbiter, 14 Oct 2020Apple Talk about by removing charger , they save million tonnes of CO2 etc etc. But think this... more1. Peopld will praise Apple for thinking of the environment
2. Apple will sell lots of chargers
3. Faster charging will cause faster degradation and more battery repairs (though 20W isn't much fast so degradation won't be faster than competitors)
4. More chargers sell and repair will bring more income
So basically Apple is getting 4 benefits

I guessing with iPhone 14 Apple might drop lightning port and go all in with wireless charging
And I have no idea what Magsafe is

What if...it is my first Iphone and I dont have any usb-c ports around the house to charge the phone . Is it true that Apple sent me a device that cannot be used?
Am I obliged to have a charger or smth with usbc? How about buying a car with no keys?
In order for a device to function it needs to get power from somewhere. Apple faces some legal issues by not providing in the BOX everything needed for the device to work as it should.

Never buy any accessories from Apple. I have learnt that the hard way. Their accessories are pointless most of the time or are half baked. Not to mention yet so expensive!

Apple Talk about by removing charger , they save million tonnes of CO2 etc etc. But think this. Generally apple users use low power chargers which , although charge slowly, save the battery from degradation over time , like in a period of 3-4 yrs of usage. But now people have to buy new chargers. They definitely will buy high power quick chargers. And that habit of putting phone on charge overnight. SO these will definitely degrade the battery , more than the old slow charger. That'll lead to more battery replacements or even phone replacement , quicker and sooner than before. Now Apple should be asked about the carbon footprint.

Justinjt2020, 14 Oct 2020They better improve those wireless speeds than if they want to go portless as that 15W is slow... moreThere batteries are not so big that it would need more then 15W charging speed. It's not like these have 4000-6000mah batteries like the Chinese phones that have these 50W or more powerful fast chargers

Ah... I get it now. Leaving out charger brick is never meant for the environment, but for people to buy their wireless charger. Typical Apple, Lol.

Even Xiaomi, a Chinese company which mainly focuses on budget and midrange phones, is able to come up with 50W wireless charging (Mi 10 Ultra). Apple needs to stop being a cheapskate in their R&D.

Looks like Apple is going completely portless next year, giving the solution for wireless charging while holding the phone. But looks like it only works with expensive accessories, if they do the same thing with 13 and force people to buy expensive cases , then that's some problem.

Interesting. Thank you GSMArena. I know your trying to be unbiased. I can see that.

Unbelievable that you have to buy the charger seperately. And is an ultrafast 20 watts... Very impressive for Apple anyway...

Just so surreal isn't it? I really can't believe what has happened to Apple?

Kind of shocking... Really. I am stunned. Just can't believe that they couldn't give at least a 120hz screen... I really think that Apple have actually gone backwards quite a bit now. Don't you?
