The trouble is, rounded edged provide no tactile feedback when the phone rotated laterally. If you rotate an iPhone 4/5 in your hand, it digs in and your grip on it gets more secure. Try that with a 6/7/8/X/11 and the phone just slips out of your fingers like a cat in a bathtub! The net result is that everybody who owns a modern iPhone buys a case.
I hate “cases”. I like to use my phone naked, which is perilous with a rounded edge. So glad Apple “did the math” and went back to a solid feeling design.

I don’t know why it’s taken analysts to long to remember that people (like me) will pay a PREMIUM for a small phone. I used to own a StarTac. Years later when I worked for HP my wife and I each owned Palm Pre. Remember how popular the Motorola RAZR was? Why is it surprising that some well healed consumers want and will pay for portability? My wife still has her iPhone SE1 (iPhone 5) even though I’ve told her she can have any phone on the market she wants. I have an iPhone 7 because I refuse to carry anything bigger (it’s already too damned big) and I wanted 128gb of storage.
I’m waiting impatiently for my iPhone Mini and so is my wife. Hopefully Apple releases a ‘Pro’ Mini next year in gold with 512gb of storage. If they do, I’ll give my mini to my son and buy that one!

I had all the Sony compact series from Z3C to XZ2C and stopped there following Sony's nonsense. Never bought a single Apple device in my life; i'm so happy to see the i12 Mini ahead of other choices with 14K votes total. I hope they will sell tons of them and maybe it will be my first Apple smartphone.

Big move from apple. especially the product like iPhone 12 mini. and now the people get more exciting phone from android company.. those spec and feature and size are more compatible to daily commutes. Thanks apple for showing a Good idea..

Mini Mini Mini. Never been so excited for a new phone launch. Switched away from Apple after phone sizes started growing beyond the 5s I had at the time and the Mini just hits the spot for me to go back to iPhone. Going to wait for some proper reviews though and want to hold it in my hand before buying.
Love the iPhone 4 and 5ish more squared design, never really liked the rounded edges on all new phones. Love the smaller size (finally!) while still retaining features. Love the mint color.
Unsure about not having fingerprint sensor. Also disappointed with not going with usb-c port.
