Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020Well, Xperia 5 II do have 4k HDR @ 120 fps option on Snapdragon 865. So it's certainly no... moreA13 is already capable of handling data throughput equivalent to 4K120 encoding (as 4K60 with EDR is essentially 4K120 but two frames are instantly merged together after being captured), so most likely it's the sensor that could not keep up 240fps readout at such a high resolution setting.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020I don’t know man, the Exynos 2100 and Kirin 9000 seem to be way better than the A14. The Kirin... moreDon't compare A14 with Snapdragon 875, that's not fair A14 is a 2020 chipset not a 2021 chipset
Guys, you're buying a brand not phone. Sorry but it's true and it's expensive like any other prestigious goods.
For good performance and affordability, look elsewhere. This applies to photography too. Having said that, to each his own, iPhone had its niche market and followers. Key is did you enjoy the experience.
For me, I have longed given up since iPhone 8 and enjoyed Samsung and then lately Huawei with its photography.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020IPhone 12 pro Max starts at Rs 130k for 128gb variant. I think he's referring to equivalent 256 gb model... That's like 10k more, i.e 140k. 512 gb is 160 which is greater than fold 2.... Fold 2 is miles better deal in India
XOR, 16 Oct 2020Exactly. Kirin 990 5G had a GeekBench 5.1 Single core score of 783 & Multi core score of 3... moreI'm not sure but kirin 990 had a 900-ish single core score.
But your point still holds.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020It statistically can't have 4150... iPad CPU can be clocked higher and have higher wattag... moreThat's using antutu, which is impacted by many more factors than CPU performance.
Antutu is less impacted by actual performance increases if other specs don't really change. For example, even though RAM and high refresh rate impact the phone's speed in different ways than CPU performance, not big improvements in 1 can overcome big improvements in another.
MrDang, 16 Oct 2020That's a hoax. I just bought a SD865 phone and it's not as quick as my iPhone. You are fake news...
JDK, 16 Oct 2020No, iPad had a 4198 score, iPhone had a 4150-ish score. It statistically can't have 4150... iPad CPU can be clocked higher and have higher wattage due to bigger battery, a shift from 4 to 5 watts is 20 percentage more power consumed, consequently that means it will score significantly more. Same happened for antutu
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020The 5.4" iPhone 12 costs $700 and the 6.1" iPhone 12 costs $800, just a $100 more. ... moreWho's going to buy tbe iPhone 12 mini?
Well, I know one person who's never bought an Apple product in her life but is still tempted by it. She's been an Xperia Compact loyalist all through the 2010s because of her small hands, and nothing on the market today is even close to that size... But the 12 mini is.
At the very least it will be a very solid niche product, and might have been even if it had price parity with the 6.1-incher.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020that was for ipad which has better thermals, sooo....No, iPad had a 4198 score, iPhone had a 4150-ish score.
Wonder how much Exynos 2100 is going to get. If the Exynos 1080 can already defeat the SD 865, imagine one day Samsung finally topples Apple's hold on most power from a phone.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020The 5.4" iPhone 12 costs $700 and the 6.1" iPhone 12 costs $800, just a $100 more. ... moreApple may go for 5.8'' iphone next or next-next year if sell of 5.4 inch that much mini doesn't go well. Rumors' also suggest the same: which may replace current iphone SE but the question is whether Apple will release SE again so soon?
My hunch is that, it is entirely possible to test the market. And, I also hope so...
Ano, 16 Oct 2020No, I'd have go for iPhone 12 pro over regular 12 cz the price is not 800 but $830 for th... moreYeah, there is less of a price difference between the normal and the pro model phones this year. Last year it was $300 and this year it is $200. I can see why you'd want to step up to the pro because it does have 128gb base storage instead of 64gb and a bit more memory. Apple may be pushing their flock towards the pro models this year.
Trevbil , 16 Oct 2020Making bold claims at the launch event, quoting 50% faster CPU, 50% faster GPU and 40% more ba... moreYeah how could they claim 60% CPU improvement? It's clearly not the 70% improvement they promised. I mean it's not really realistic for the A14 to have an 80% CPU improvement. So I wonder, why did they promise 90% CPU improvement? This is clearly not twice as fast as the A12. Their claims of being twice as fast compared to the A13 are a marketing gimmick. Anyone claiming they could reach the claimed tripling of CPU performance compared to A13 is a hoax.
I doubt the SD875 can touch A14's power anyway.
I just bought a SD865 phone (S20 FE 5G). It's a Samsung so optimisation should be good. While it's much better than my Exynos S10, sustained performance is actually not too good. It gets very warm after 1 hour of intensive gaming. My iPhone 11 runs cooler (yes, screen resolution is lower, but the chassis is much thicker and a smaller phone). Not sure about the 11 Pro but 11 Pro theoretically gets hotter too.
Multitasking in regular apps is not a big difference.
And I have noticed SD865 Chinese phones get very warm with performance drops after playing certain games.
So I'm confident A14 will lead again. If this is a hoax then consider trying out the unit by yourself.
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2020How that's even possible? That's so weird. Where i live fold 2 is 2,099e and 12 Pro ... moreNot to mention Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G price is listed price, you would get great deals and discounts, no need to shell out fortune on bricks, cables, cases and wireless buds (what would you do with USB-C to Lightening cable? Go get USB C charger?) and sometimes you even get Witeless charger free, typically $200-$300 worth free accessories in addition to discount for a much advanced and larger tablet-mobile combo vs single less advanced and old style mobile !!
