Boggy-Stefy, 18 Oct 2020Everything in this life (at least in the tech community) is about money. EVERYTHING. Is no hi... moreFinally someone with sense.

I try to narrow down what I plan to buy to a few ones based on specs, value for price, my budget, brand history and other aspects.

Of course I don't always end up satisfied with what I bought. I take that into consideration when buying my next one. I have tried 4 brands so far (3 actually, because 1 of them is a sub-brand.

Tldr: I'm not a sheep and nobody else should (regarless if it's your own money you'll use or not)

Well having extra camera and no stupid jack hole was an excellent decision and i am only glad for it.
Cables and Jack was, it is and always will be completely obsolette and useless gimmick.

I wonder what wireless file transfer protocol Apple is going to use if they do get rid of wired connections.

This was where Apple copied LG's dual camera set-up and refined it.

Is no higher purpose, no customers satisfaction, no companies respect.
Android companies will copy Apple, Apple will copy Android companies, just to make some more people buy their products.
Don't think for one minute that your brand loyalty is somehow important to anybody at Apple, or Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc. They are interested only in your money.

That is why, I buy gadgets based on my personal pleasure. Nothing more. I don't care for any of them and I could change brands in an instant, based just on my interest or pleasure in that particular moment in time.

Ok where to start...
The lack of chargers and headsets has already been shown to have no environmental impact and just saves them money - whilst they charge the same price as if they were there.
They didn't make the dual cam a must have, it already was and they (and Samsung) were behind the trend.
The weren't initially hesitant to make bigger screens, they condemned the others saying they were forcing them to use a bigger screen device and they wouldn't make a big screen phone themselves.
The notch wasn't even their idea either.

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2020Did this initiate the start of headphone jack removal...or innovation as they sayYes, sadly. Apples uncontrollable greed to sell airpods is the true reason they killed the headphone jack. And after, other manufacturers copied them for no particular reason.

"You can condemn axing the 3.5mm jack if you want to, but it was a brilliant move – a move that most other smartphone makers would rush to imitate as they launched wireless headsets of their own. Not before mocking Apple, of course."

Very nicely put...now the history repeats itself...Samsung and other users mocking Apple about the lack of charger brick and headphones for a slimmer package, until next year the rest will do the same
Hypocrisy at the highest level

Vader, 18 Oct 2020They also forgot to mention the fact that iPhone 7 was the best phone on the market by a mile ... moreStill, there is the possibility to buy a new 200EUR Android phone, but not a new 200EUR iphone. Yeah, you can buy a second hand one (maybe a 7 or 8 with that money), but I already got burned with second hand phones. Also, an iphone 7 or 8 in 2020 is good only if you really really want IOS and don't have the money. Otherwise, there are unappealing phones for 2020 standards.

Boggy-Stefy, 18 Oct 2020Apple may be one of the best companies in the world. But not because of the love and respect f... moreAds got big power, even huawei can bring the ones that just not tell you logical reason but also sway your emotion. Advertising is not everything though(tesla as example), but some lose on both fronts, being also unable to satisfy customer.
Apple surely use also satisfaction as they got for example an apps which other OSes don't(like some medical apps), so its not all marketing but also real user recommendations what make their sales grow and no ad can change your option then.

iPhone 6, 7, and 8/X are garbage.

iPhone 6 and 7 had poor quality control.

It was when Apple made the Xr and Xs and started to be suddenly good and redefined what a premium phone looks like.

type C dongle for 3.5mm is good option. Also in gaming.

Expensive wireless headset still has delayed sound in games, so with dongle every problem still clear.
