its always Google who has these stupid problems, poor quality control.

but funnily enough the original Pixel was the one with the least problems, followed by maybe the Pixel 4/a.

[deleted post]Given your hatred for all things Chinese, doesn't it irk you that iPhones are engineered and manufactured in China?

Android Authority, 20 Oct 2020But the Nord has poor build quality. The 7T should be a better buy. My neighbor has 8 Pro. It is amazing. Really fast and smooth.

Boggy-Stefy, 20 Oct 2020Some time ago, when there weren't so many options in the phone industry, phones like Goog... moreWell. No other brand is making small phones anymore so only option is Pixel or iPhone today.. This tedious urge to have so big phone as possible is just ridiculous. And this ridiculous specwar/BS. These specs are just enough and fine for the majority

AnonD-804996, 20 Oct 2020I don't know why case is metal and then covered in this grippy goo in the first place. Wh... moreProbably some stupid balancing act between price (profit) and features. Aluminum should be more durable than plastic, but cheaper to make than a glass sandwich. Then there's this overrated opinion nowadays, that a heavier device feels better in the hand, feels more premium. So choosing aluminum over plastic because it's slightly heavier could also be possible. But Google also wanted to offer wireless charging, so they drilled a hole in the middle of the aluminum back for the charging coil. But then they had to hide it, so they covered everything up with "this grippy goo". Holes are a structural weakness, and I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with this gap between screen and frame somehow.

Anyhow, I agree with you, plastic would've been a better option. And I'm looking forward to the durability test from JerryRigEverything.

Production price cost to the extreme...lol. These guys make sure they spend the least at production and QC then expect to make all the profits that be.

Now we have evidences of low budget process.
