8 = water , 1.5m + 30 min 1.5m depth is the minimum required to secure IP68.
It can go beyond that.
This isn't an echo chamber like the comment section of Sony phones where people will agree with your half baked knowledge.

On my 5G samsung note 20, because i got hit very hard if i stay on 5G, and i have mediocre signal, i get very poor battery and i had to go only LTE
Glad Apple is making just to lose 2 hours with full throttle only 5G

This is why they didn't want to give 5g and 120hz as battery life would be worse than its competitors.
Cutting corners all the time.
Android phones in those price range are showing how it's done with both 5g and 120hz despite running on 7nm CPU.

Just as obvious as "people die when they are killed". Very pointless indeed since they don't even compare the 5G/4G playback times on Android phones for some reason.

From Wikipedia:
IPX8 - "Immersion, 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) or MORE depth"
"Test duration: agreement with manufacturer"
"Depth specified by the manufacturer, GENERALLY up to 3 meters (9.8 ft)"
Apple decided to test iPhone 12 series at much more challenging 6m depth, and they managed to get IPX8 rating in the end. Therefore iPhone 12 series DO have an ability to withstand water submersion at 6m up to 30 minutes and IPX8 certification for it.

Honestly, I understant the role of 5G for IoT.
But, is it necessary to have on your phone 1,1Gbps internet when most homes do not have even 50?
100mbps allows too many things already. I prefer much better 4G connections.
In my location it rarely pass 12Mbps.
