Anonymous, 21 Oct 2020People please stfupp everyone has a charger and airpod or Bluetooth earphones so stop whining geezYeah but the previous chargers were normal usb where the iphone 12's come with a type c to lighting cable so you have to buy a new charger lmao.
tom, 22 Oct 2020Almost everyone but the blindest fanboys know that Apple did it for the money, not for the env... moreI think they meant the Lightning to USB-C cable is to connect iPhone to a computer. Existing iPhone users can use their old charger. Still a bad practice though because anyone buying iPhone for the first time has to shell out more to get the charger, or buying proprietary cable to be used on any charger.
If they really cared about the environment, Apple should launch an aggressive trade-in program for old iPhones and other phones. I know Apple stores in some countries offer trade-ins.
Just bought the Sony Xperia 5 II from my provider for €672 , in the box, charger, USB C cable and in-ear headphones.
Because it was a preorder I will also get the Sony WH-H910N noise cancelling headphones for free (+/-€200) .. good deal or not?
i never seen customers blindly supporting and suffering the greedines of a company this much !
if you can't stop this now, this will get worse.
so plz make a law to force the manufactuer have to put the charger in the box
This no charger and earpods should've been just tied to the US market.
Or Apple could just do what Xiaomi is doing now, reducing the plastic used in its packaging by 60%, and keeping the charger. But it's kinda obvious Apple is doing this for profit since new iPhone users will have to buy their chargers separately.
Saving the environment, they say, but they design their products in a way that it's literally impossible for users to repair them by themselves.
LOL if this still doesn't make them the most horrendous company in the mobile world....
So now Apple is shipping twice the number of boxes? What happened to that 'environmental protection' stuff now? Profit wins everytime.
So that's how Apple saves environment, by producing more boxes, what a scam.
What a rip off. Apple shouldn't be allowed to sell cellphones at all. Their excuse environment, but they want you to buy a charger brick for $20 buck.
Almost everyone but the blindest fanboys know that Apple did it for the money, not for the environment. If they cared for the environment they'd have used USB-C instead of lightning. And great job including a lightning to USB-C cable in a world where 99% of the power bricks are USB-A, including all Apple ones prior to 2019
anotherphone, 21 Oct 2020I hope european union will do something about this before all other companies follow this stup... moreUnfortunately they have very good lawyers, Apple. A syndicate of disgruntled apple customers in Italy tried to challenge Apple's one year guarantee and it didn't hold up. A phone that is generally sold all over the world on two year service contracts that comes with a one year manufacturer guarantee. The european union has been saying for years that all phone manufacturers would need to adopt a uniform charging format, namely usb type c so what did apple do? Did they give up their proprietary lightning connector? No, they said that they would put a lightning cable to usb type c adapter in the box. They really do take the biscuit. They just don't care. Do whatever they want to. They have evaded literally millions in corporate tax in my country, Ireland for years and our government just accepts it. Everyone is afraid of them. They didn't like the competition huawei was giving them in the USA, old Tim Cook had a word in Trump's ear and what do you know, American's can't buy huawei phones in the USA anymore. The first company to introduce a non removable integrated battery (unless you have serious engineering skills). The first company to introduce a strain of bluetooth that actually doesn't enable file transfer. They did away with the sd card slot to try and force people to buy their cloud services. The list of crimes against consumers and technology is endless but the sheep still follow them. Where there's money and delusions of grandeur, idiots will follow. They also introduced the huge notch on phones.
