I have transfered my playlists, fine. But everything else is not a nice experience. I have always favored google play as its easy to use, works with lits of tech and all my stuff is google based. Youtube music feels clunky and basic to use, it doesn't let you turn off your screen when listening to music as well as other differences that make it inferior.
I think I'm going to cancel youtube music and use spotify ir deezer from now on. Don't know what they are like, but anything would be better than this.......... BRING BACK GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC!!!!!!
Stay away from utube music, its a con. Any music you have payed for with google music (and can listen to off line by down loading) will transfer to utube muusic, jeres the catch ...... you can nly listen to it free by livestreaming! If ypu wantto down load 4hen you needtheir premium service at £7+ per month! Wehen the music has already been broughtby you.
A BIG FAT MONEY MAKING CON
F0x, 23 Oct 2020Please do tell, how you did soI went over to play store, ant clicked "Uninstall". That uninstalled all the updates, but looks like it nuked the local library in the process as well. So i went back to PM and re-downloaded my stuff again. Works like it did before Google decided to be like Apple, and pick what's best for us. Sucks for those who have playlists. Looks like you'd lose your playlists.
If you uninstall updates for the Google Play music app you can still use it to play your downloaded MP3 files (not sure about music online) and you won't be promoted to migrate to yt music.
How can I get the shuffle feature to work - it just keeps repeating the same song over and over and it is REALLY REALLY annoying!!!!!
I basically lost my whole playlist....it only transferred two songs! I've been trying to get it to transfer for a whole week and nothing!
After a migration children under age 13 will not be able listen to music at all (((
It because YouTube doesn't permit children account.
New YouTube music may have some bells and whistles, (I will not look for them), but it does NOT allow you to listen to your music while closing your screen...how sad is that?? You have to keep your screen open, waste your battery, to listen to your own music...or, of course, pay for a subscription!
chrishd32, 22 Oct 2020I migrated my playlist from Google Music to YouTube Music. Didn't lose anything. Not sure... moreDon't assume we all have the same luck as you. Some music from Google Play Music, for some reason, is not on YouTube Music.
5 years of gpm. Lots of time and money spent. Migrated all across to ytm. Gotta say ytm s*x dog b*lls. Wit a flaming pile of sh#t. Searching for an alternative. Not impressed. Waiting for them to do same to Google play movies based on rumours. Pretty p*ased
This is why all who does not stick to MP3 still prefer Apple iTunes LMAO...
The transfer went okay the only problem is that youtube music sucks compared to what we are losing. Like the music I purchased back when that I can no longer access on youtube music. And how you can't edit playlist. You have to live with the order in which you added the song to the list or just played them on shuffle. You are not allowed to be creative any longer.
It stinks. Can't play my own music on my Google home unless i chromecast, and when i do i can't loop playlists or songs or go to the previous song. I also can't edit details on my audio files i upload to my account, but at least i still can upload audio ig :/
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2020Absolutely stupid. Youtube music sucks in comparison to Google Play. I don't give a fu¢k ... moreI'm currently using Phonograph for local play. I don't have all of my music downloaded though. I think I've heard a lot of people are using Dropbox to store their music online. The only real caveat is of you don't have unlimited data or reliable WiFi to download when needed
More useless garbage from Google preinstalled on phones which cannot be easily removed.
