That dynamic range is insane! Even the selfie cam trumps a lot of £500 phones when it comes to dynamic range!
As always, Huawei is the phone to beat In camers as usual buf the sanctions aren't helping at all, as much as i love my Huawei, No GMS for me is a NO NO and bad cos almost all i do needs GMS to function... Maybe if Biden wins Next month,The sanctions will be lifted

Look at the new Windows 10 update 20H2 which turn back using colorful icon.
As I said
It's a camera with few smartphone features
Boggy-Stefy, 23 Oct 2020If you are a camera geek, yeah Huawei is the best there is. But, even for those people, majori... moreI have a good SLR but i still want the best phone camera possible. I have kids and my phone is always with me but not my SLR. The majority of my favorite photos are actually from my mobile phone.
How about pro+? And rs?
Cool, now all i need is a Mate 20 X upgrade plus Trump to go so Google can get back on board. I've had the Mate 20X for 2 years, previously Samsung Notes and Apples before that. It is by far the best phone I've had and won't be getting replaced any time soon. Unless we see a Mate 40 X :-)
ASUS ROG Phone 3, 23 Oct 2020They are way ahead of iToys and others by huge margin! Good luck with the rest of the industry... moreIf you are a camera geek, yeah Huawei is the best there is. But, even for those people, majority of them have already a dedicated professional camera (for field trips, holidays, etc.).
Myself, the same probably like millions of average users out there, wants a phone that has the apps I want and use, and works as best as possible (of course depending on how much the device cost; a 200EUR phone will not be exactly the same as a 700EUR one).
Yeah, so let's see what they will going to do with this Harmony OS thing. Maybe it will be a nice surprise, even though I doubt it. Windows mobile was a very nice surprise and it slowly died out, exactly for the reason I said earlier (lack of dedicated apps that people are custom with and use on a daily basis).

If the same could be said for the main camera of P30, Mate 30 and P40 series then I bet almost nobody would've complained about their transition to a RYYB sensor in the first place. Huawei finally tuned the colours right and it will only get better as they push out more and more minor software updates in the future. I also think the bokeh looks fairly convincing for an software-based one, the edge detection seems to be pretty accurate as well.
With that said, however, It's so disappointing that they didn't fix the Night Mode after a whole year of complaints from their customers. The lack of proper 50MP mode (as well as AI 50MP) is also a huge letdown, not to mention the absence of OIS and the resulting loss of details in low light. It's still a great camera, sure, but I found the fact that they are purposely omitting the software and hardware features of "Pro" model to force people to go after "Pro 'Plus'" variant quite insulting. I was expecting them to be all out especially considering that this could be their last flagship under Huawei alias, but sadly they betrayed my expectation in many ways this time around.
Look at how good the samples quality are....colors on RYYB sensor looks good now..and that fake bokeh, with the famous 'Leica Bokeh Balls'... looks really really convincing & near to DSLR quality. I'm amazed of what they did with this Mate 40 camera.
Because we all know how objective these tests are...
They are way ahead of iToys and others by huge margin! Good luck with the rest of the industry, may be in 2024 they may get 140 ..... Unfortunately they don't sell it here in my place anymore!! Too bad!
Please test the Mate 40 Pro Plus.
It has the additional 3x Zoom Telephoto
It has the 10X zoom telephoto
It also has an different ultra wide angle camera (20 MP, F 2.4, 14 MM, Free form lens)
The main camera also has OIS, the Mate 40 Pro doesn't
I am curious to see how the ultrawide will perform and the 10x zoom. The ultrawide on Huawei's latest flagship just isn't wide enough, but it is very excellent in quality, I am curious to see how their new ultrawide will perform. The 10x zoom on the P40 Pro Plus is very shaky, so it is hard to get an sharp shot, curious to see the Mate 40 Pro Plus's improved processing. I am also curious to see how the addition of OIS will affect low light performance over the regular Pro model.
Why did Huawei ditch the OIS on the Mate 40 Pro though, strange
