Why is everyone acting like the differences being minor is a big deal? Might as well just get the 8 plus if we're talking about a list of stuff you don't need

It's a shame that the batteries are smaller this time, and I'm not expecting A14 in iPhone to be as fast as the one in iPad, though I'm expecting the performance level is equivalent to the Kirin 9000 in the Mate 40 Pro. Can't locate the graphite sheet (iPhone 11 uses one).

Just went to the store to see the iPhone 12 as it's the first day on sale. I was the only person there. At lunchtime. Can it be a hit with so little interest. 929 euros in a global economic downtown might be too optimistic!

Pro isn't worth it against the 12 this year. You only get telephoto lens, lidar, different frame material, little bit brighter screen, 2gb more ram, more storage options that you need to pay anyway.

Or separate packaging or make it removable type....need big one buy again...separately.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2020weren't these phones supposed to have cheaper batteries or some cost-cutting about the ba... morethey cannot deal with china so battery is alternatively source and more expensive.
also its not guaranteed reliable source since its the 1st time they are forced to do so.

Another words...expect 1st few batches to have loads of battery issues...maybe can even use as grenades if they explode.

limafranco, 23 Oct 2020The Pro version this year, makes no sense at all - regular 12 will be best seller, by far.Yup. But pro users want 512GB / lidar.

So if you are not into storage or photography, 12 is enough.

Bad is that this phone is targeted at users from the iPhone 8 / 7 era not 11 series.. who at most have 256GB. Most will not feel the pinch to up the storage, especially when the times are bad now.

AnonD-923722, 23 Oct 2020Very disappointing battery capacity, iphone 12 will sure fail. The iphone 11 has great battery... moreBare in mind, it is just a shade over 200mah battery capacity. How much it adds to the life of the phone is anyone's guess. The A14 has clearly been nerfed a little to sip on the battery instead of the status quo which was to blow the Snapdragon competition to smithereens.

Most people that quote a decline in battery life are using these phones on 5G. So naturally, it will use more battery life but this battery comparison to the 4G only iPhone 11 series which are not, of course, 5G capable. 4G only tests show a mild degradation in battery life but again how much of this is down to iOS 14 not being as smooth and as polished, is anyone's guess.

Disappointing none the less but look at the additional components they had to put in? Then surely weight becomes an issue also. Though like many others my preference would have been for them to add another 0.5mm to the thickness and then smack in a bigger battery so there is no spec regression to last year.
