Good article, broadly, though not sure why you think flagship iPhones are smaller than Android ones - they also grew in size when Android flagships did. This trend was as much (if not more) to do with consumer demand for larger screens as it was the necessity of having larger batteries to power powerful chipsets.

I fully agree, unless you are big into mobile gaming.
Phones are becoming same as PCs, unless you are heavy gamer or editor you don't need highest end, fastest machine, same with phones, for majority of people highest end midrange chip will get the job done.
Tho it's fun seeing Qualcomm and Apple always push themselves further with chipset performance.

Only if you're planning to use your phone less than 3 years. Phones with high end SoC tends to be fast and stay fast after a couple of years, the same cannot be said for those with midrange ones.

i don't need 120hz qhd memc display, a 720p tft display is good enough and most of people who haven't tried a better display will not have any problem with it
the same for having 7 useless cameras why we need flagship cameras is the same as why we need flagship soc
