Mystic21, 24 Oct 2020Wow Xiaomi!! Nothing for Mi 8 a was so called flagship. This is the part that I hate about Android. The main part. You're always left at the grace of vendors for months just to end up finding out you're never getting the update coz reasons. And what's more annoying with Xiaomi, as much as I like them as a brand, they do this nonsense where they would update the MIUI to version 12, but it would still run some old version of Android underneath where latest and greatest models actually get latest Android and latest MIUI. And that's so damn annoying.

I had the Mi 6 from 2017 and yes I installed miui 12 china version beta more than 3 months ago then I converted to miui.eu 12 (you can search about it, So I am sure the mi 8 also have miui 12 chinese not global version and miui.Eu 12
Now I have the mi 9 and it was the first phone and mi 9t/pro with miui 12 and android 10
The mi 8 got miui 12 chinese beta and will get the global version soon, you can also check on xiaomi own website if he got the global version
And there is an option in parameter, updates, wich is receive early updates it could be the reason why you haven't receive it yet
