The Voice of Reason, 26 Oct 2020How many RTX 3090 are required to drive it? ;-) Let's see, it's 625 times more dens... moreYou're assuming it's in a full sized screen, even if your vr screens are 40 square inches, it won't come anywhere close to the 8,294,400 pixels that are in a full sized 4k display.
10k ppi is 100M pixels per square inch which is 3x the pixels on 8k tv. I can see this limited to vr applications only due to bandwidth issues on larger screens.
Anonymous, 26 Oct 2020They can't make oled TVs due to patents and licensing issues... That is the primary reaso... moreI'm sure they don't make OLED TV because it's so expensive. They exist, they just cost $10,000+
The Voice of Reason, 26 Oct 2020How many RTX 3090 are required to drive it? ;-) Let's see, it's 625 times more dens... moreYou're missing the point of high PPI. We are not talking about resolution here.
The Voice of Reason, 26 Oct 2020How many RTX 3090 are required to drive it? ;-) Let's see, it's 625 times more dens... moreYou are viewing this from theoretical angle, take it from practical angle, you just need a chip to upscale your content, 8k has enough information, we just need upscaling to smooth it
Lol, Sammy still have some of the worse battery life which in my world is much more important, but again one does not exclude the other, only the battery power 🤭
DLSS says we are ready for that
Penk2856, 26 Oct 2020Read carefully. It's aimed for VR products mainlyRead again. It's Samsung. Doesn't matter what it's aimed for, it's still not able to power it.

That is the primary reason their TVs are named QLED, to fool gullible consumers into buying it, thinking thatt they got an oled while all they got is glorified LCDs. if burn in was an issue, why TF do they sell AMOLED phones? They are used more than TVs these days...

it's kind of an expected thing now in such a huge company where the various divisions don't talk much, like Sony or LG.
impressive. Now wake me up when they raise the PWM frequency on their OLED phone panels to over 400Hz.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2020Because they do not want to spend money replacing screens with burn-in, exactly the reason the... moreno one uses phone continuously for screen screen burnin but tv stays on for long so tv has burnins
And when I just bought LABO VR for my Switch.
joe nodden, 26 Oct 2020People seriously don't know how to read. This isn't for smartphones. It says it can also be used.
Not that will be...
It does not says exclusive for VR.
Scaland, 26 Oct 2020Why Samsung don't make OLED TV?!Because they do not want to spend money replacing screens with burn-in, exactly the reason their ads mock LG tvs.
Oled has huge list of downsides. More than benefits.
Geeks do not admit just because Samsung is the main mobile oled supplier also #1 phone seller.
The Voice of Reason, 26 Oct 2020How many RTX 3090 are required to drive it? ;-) Let's see, it's 625 times more dens... moreThe 3090 can drive two 8k displays as it is just for streaming
