a) It works properly as only job is has is aligning the coils, it has no other function.
b) to align the coils between phone and MagSafe you don't need earth shattering magnets
c) whole point of MagSafe is that it SAFELY disconnects when required so you don't snap the cable or worse, break the port on the charger or laptop

Wireless charging is essentially still wired, although Most well known chinese brands have started to mass produce upto 50 and 60W wireless charging and yet here we have the most valuable tech company still not able to do shit

LG Superfan, 27 Oct 2020Much better than wireless pad chargingIt's the same, but they fixed alignment issues that make wireless charging less efficient. With MagSafe, it's always at 100% wireless efficiency. With regular Qi pads, it's often less because you never quite align coils directly one at the another. But other than that, it's just a regular Qi pad. Which can even be used with other phones which is nice.

Chinese manufacturers would have launched a better working prototype in weeks, rolling it out in a couple of months.
