NL, 28 Oct 2020Who uses a phone for 5 years?with some phones, esp in the budget segment, people might change every year... but not everyone... i still use my miro, z1 compact, z3, z5 premium apart from xz2 compact and 1ii at least an hour for a week... some others, just to check if they are still alive - nokia 909, nokia n8, lg g4... so yeah, using a phone for 5 years and beyond is possible...

All talk, where are the sales? 2 year old companies are selling 10 times more than Sony.
People are more excited for Chinese flagships since they always bring something new and have way better worldwide availability than Sony.

I can't guarantee about cheap Oled used in budget phones though.

Oh Sony, do not ever change ... you endless well of illogical decisions. It's like Apple making Qi charger magnetic ... you just have to admire such a level of sheer stupidity.
PS: Xperia 5/1 is not supported by Xperia transfer App, Sony only support Xperia transfer app 2 for Xperia 1 II / 5 II ... that was fun to find out. Good thing I sync almost everything via Google.

iOS Never Again, 28 Oct 2020Don't bother wasting your energy. Sony is dead in the smartphone segment. No amount of... moreNot a hard-core fan but as an engineer I truly admire what Sony is doing. It's never about selling numbers of units. It is all about quality and not following others. It is just like you are comparing Tesla vs Porsche Taycan. Just because Tesla selling more cars and bigger electric car market that doesn't mean they are better. Same way I want Sony to be different exclusive and costly so any random person can't buy it. I see out of every 100 usually people 40 have iPhones 40 have galaxies and others have all small share of market. Between them I really need unique design. Doesn't matter if it have bezels. Performance of Xperia is definitely far better than any other android devices.
