Google doesn't revenue share on the software side with the manufacturers, so the only way for most manufacturer's to survive is pumping out more hardware. Samsung and Xiaomi have built their own ecosystem within Google's Android so they're more inclined to push software updates but they even have a limit compared to Apple.
InternetUser, 31 Oct 2020I would like to replace Redmi Note 7 with other brand because of these problems. What are good... moreDunno, I had bunch of Android phones and they all had the same problem on software side. Pathetic short term software support with months of waiting for new major Android version update and always some stupid excuse in the end that I got left out of the update anyway. And when I did get it confirmed for my device, there was this regional rollout thing where it seems my country, literally in the middle of Europe always got it among the last if not the last. It really got on my nerves hard to a point I said f**k it I'm gonna try Apple as their updates are always first party. People can whine over Apple whatever they want, but I absolutely love how software is maintained. Guaranteed major version updates every year for what has become a 5 year thing, when update is announced, it's when you get it. No waiting, no wondering, nothing. You just get it. If Android ever manages to fix this, they might get me back, but till then, I don't think I'm returning. Or if you just look at the phone as entirely disposable device. In which case I'd buy some Realme up to 300€ and just ditch it when it stops getting updates. Which means 2 years or so...

Just love my poco F1, love Miui 12 ,very fluid, battery still going strong, only problem is screen retention, but after almost 2 years of heavy use, is forgivable.
Also has the redmi note 9 pro as backup phone, great all around phone and amazing photos on both devices with gcam.
I used to have LG(G6) and past HTC fan..... xiaomi delivers the best bang for your buck, the hardware is amazing, and the software improved by a lot in Miui 12.
Anonymous, 30 Oct 2020Doesn't matter miui is light years ahead of iOS. How did you manage to bring up god damn iOS here in Xiaomi's article with zero mention of Apple? Are you one of those "Anonymous" people who s**t on everything Apple in every single article about Apple things? You sure sound like one...
This is the strength of home markets. Xiaomi/have china the biggest, apple has us/canada, but samsung has the smallest south korea and about 1% in China is pretty bad for them. Very soon if huawei users switch to xiaomi (patriotism) and reject apple in china , xiaomi will be by far the no1 and pretty soon.
Alex 94, 30 Oct 2020Great phones. They just need to optimize software and will be much more better and respected.I have the mi 9 and it is amazing
I got the second hand mi 9 some months ago for 260$
The battery life is still great with 7h and a half (meduim usage with dark mode)
Despite the small battery and being a second hand of 2019

Kudos, Xiaomi! Been using the Poco X3 NFC for a while now, and I'm loving it! No more spending over $350 on phones, and only Xiaomi from now on.
awsome phone for realistic price

IMO, we won't see other than the current top 4 brands for a very long time.
Samsung
Huawei
Xiaomi
Apple
1 Korean, 2 Chinese, 1 American
Any other can't and will not compete for years to come.. unless BBK turns to a single phone brand instead of Oppo/Vivo (they should though, to show Apple the way out lol)

Analytics still pretend that the 2nd biggest seller BBK Electronics (Vivo, iQOO, Oppo, OnePlus, Realme) doesn't exist.
I like Xiaomi because they don't skip on functionalities like headphone jack, infrared and radio.
Glad to see xiaomi is doing well. They make amazing products and are cheaper than the rest. What more can you ask for?!Maybe some smaller phones like 6 inch but i am sure they will make it in the incoming months
