Anonymous, 02 Nov 2020sure only in your dreamsHuawei started using 5nm chips on their Mate 40 series before Qualcomm Snapdragon.
Think of the space they have covered within the last 5 years. With the government aid and Chinese population "stop dreaming"

Push a man far and push him so far.
With China five years plan, in the next five years Qualcomm and TSMC that their major customers are Chinese companies will lose most of them because China is going independent, which they might not have at least in the next ten years, but the ban has triggered SoC independence in China earlier.

seo, 03 Nov 2020What this prove? China is nothing without technology from outside. They still on infantry stag... moreAre you really that dense?
It's only 45nm because they are just starting their factories and tech from scratch.
Korea is on 5nm.
If huawei had been making chips for years already they wouldn't have to be starting from 45nm.

Duh???

One of the things people need to understand is that politicians will never tell you the scene but rather play it while waiting for your response.....

He said that to be popular, to captivate the Americans because he knows everyone would like to ear that. He just said what people wanted to ear to be popular, to earn votes. Behind the walls though, that's another story. But when the time comes to make a move...nothing happens.
What moves did he made against Apple? none. That was blah blah blah, that's part of the game of politics. He himself has business in China and a bank account in China etc

They still on infantry stage, 45nm chips are produced 13 yrs ago. Sure they can advance quickly but because of copy, stolen intellectual property.

We'll see how this ends. HongMeng was also given a lot of praise and noise back in the day, and we are yet to see when it gets released.

Best of luck. China wants partnership and trade, but America just wants trade wars and control. Today it's China, tomorrow it could be south America, or Europe, or India. More countries should learn from this example and starting lessening their dependency on America.

So no not all the time does Trump help Apple, China on the other hand ONLY HELPS Huawei

What, 02 Nov 2020The whole 45nm thing is most likely a smoke screen. Give them 2 years after kick off and see.I agree with you. They have all the money in the world that they needed to speed up the research process to deliver a superior chip in no time...

This is what happens when you corner a giant leaving it no choice but to find solutions for itself. Some people thought Huawei would just let itself crumble and die a natural death. And also of course the goverment will support Huawei, its one of their biggest brands. Do people think South Korea will just let Samsung die if the same thing happened to it.

The big question for me is whether huawei needs the world or if the world needs huawei?

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2020In 5-10 years China will be leading force of the world. Mark my wordsAll ready is. From second trimester of this year. Idiots have shut down the economies while China have done some excellent moves on acquisitions and production, also producing at full capacity.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2020Trump is against big tech especially Tm Cook I don't think so. They're friends, even last year the president said great things about apple ceo and vice versa. The president has also visited apple installations in Austin etc
And one thing is what they may say publicly, the other is business. The president is not st*pid (about economy, he is about other many things), he knows apple is one of big US companies like walmart, amazon etc he can't ignore that and let Huawei run wild in the US.
