Insanely overpriced. Even if it had Google services, which it doesn't.

I think peoples would prefer a 850€ one without the speaker if it was an option...

If only this phone didn't had stupid things like holes in the display, curved edge display and no Jack and lack of hardware Portrait and Macro in the Periscope Telephoto, I'd buy this thing, no GMS is a PLUS !

This is one of the closest phone from what I would want, with the 3D ToF and front camera in a pop up, flat display, a Jack, the 10x Periscope telephoto of the Pro+ (but with the 12Mp sensor, duh), the 3D ToF on the back, and maybe an independent SD slot in bonus, and there would be no questions asked, I would buy this phone ASAP ! 1200€ or 1500€.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2020who in their right mind will want buy this without google apps and services? might aswell buy ... moreI would. Why would I get a Samsung with the crappy throttling and battery-eating Exynos for over 1000 euros? I don't care about the Chinese government and all of the Trump's nonsense. Everyone with a brain knows that Huawei are just a scapegoat in the trade war with China. It's not like Apple and Google aren't collecting all of your data.

And I don't care about google services. All I care about is having great screen, camera and performance. App-wise all I need is an e-mail app, Opera and Herewego all of which I can get from Appgallery. Of course, I can easily sideload anything and even if something requires GMS I can install them too as if you don't know one could install them on mate 30 pro and p40 pro and have google play and everything

If one wan... moreThe thing is huawei phones tends to be pretty heavily subsidised by carriers in Europe on a 2-year contract. For reference, I got the p30 pro for 550 euros, the p40 pro was 650 euros( with a free GT2 watch) and I'm sure the mate 40 pro will be something like 750 euros. Any extra goodies are just sweetening the deal more. In comparison Samsung and Apple's MSRP are reduced by 150 euros then MSRP on the same contract, so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to buy the mate 40 pro for the price of a standard 64gb iphone 12 or the crappy non-ultra Note 20 with exynos.

In the medium term it is a very interesting option.

Today is the last day of Trump's presidency in the US, so in the medium term the commercial agreements with Biden will return between Google and Huawei and there will be release an OTA update with all Google Services for all Huawei devices.

I think it sucks because now we only have iPhones and Pixels left to buy. Samsung has ruined everything with their inferior Exynos chips and in 2021 Xiaomi and Oppo will use them too.

So only iPhone for me from now on unless I can get my hands on a dragonsnap Samsung device.
