They will very likely upgrade the adhesive going forward on future units, but from teardown videos the adhesive looks pretty strong as it is. Plus the gap isn't present on majority of devices. Strange that they didn't announce a recall for the affected units.
AnonD-923722, 04 Nov 2020It wouldn't be an pixel if there's no hardware issue. It's not issue, it's nano cooling feature 😃
I actually believe this can be a "normal" tolerance in production. But it is clearly not normal for a 600€ (700$) premium mid-range phone. If I receive a faulty pixel 5 I'm not keeping it, thats for sure.
Shanti Dope, 04 Nov 2020So it is normal after all, just as every Pixel phones having issues each generation. How come... moreXiaomi haters will not believe you. They always thought that Xiaomi's build quality is crap no matter the price point, lol.
I received a Pixel 5 from Amazon and l have the small gap at the top left of my phone and also the bottom I hope Google is 100% sure it doesn't affect The ip rating I'm going to trust them If my phone holds up like they said I'll buy another Google device in the future if it doesn't I'll move on.
Google also said:
"we can confirm the high price, slow chipset, average camera and tracking software also part of the design... and by the way we never, I mean never read your gmail emails...our servers do."
Please mind the gap
That "normal variance" is way outside what I would find acceptable.
No way should their tolerances be that wide.
Really Google is losing me with each phone they release, makes me lean towards 1+
That's ridiculous - there's clearly an issue with the unit if one corner has a gap and the other corner is flush.
Come on Google, I was going to buy a Pixel but now I'm not so sure...
It's not normal. It's a defect. If a person has a d1ck that bent sideways, it's normal because many male person has it. If Google admit that was a manufacturing defect, apologize and do whatever they can to resolve the issue, many will appreciate that but instead they're defending their mistake. Many companies issue a recall for defective hardware, and even recall all products if the defect affecting people's safety. Why can't Google do the same?
If You believe Google and phone gets water damaged theh just remember water damage is not covered in warranty 😂
I used almost all pixels and the 3a lines is the best overall
Google is right. Physics is not. Just listen to google. Dust and water cannot enter that gap, because Google is saying it. I believe them.
Now the pixel fans on reddit, are probably gonna say how this is completely normal and defend pixel 5 and call out gsmarena for being critical smh.
So it is normal after all, just as every Pixel phones having issues each generation.
How come Xiaomi's $200 budget phones are built better than Google's $600 high-end devices?
Really? Who cam believe that??
It wouldn't be an pixel if there's no hardware issue.
