SigmaR, 05 Nov 2020Cause the Series S allows you to access the Game Pass on a really reasonable budget, with very... morethe problem is not whether xbox has affordable and great value for money gamepass, it that last gen, microsoft was not focused, first drm with always online, then TV, TV, TV and need to be on friends list to borrow physical games as the main piorities, until the backlash, they back out on these anti consumer practices, but left the xbox one with 3 over bloated os to run xbox, then the problem is that there was very pro active in nurtering game development which left xbox one with lack of exclusive games, hence why playstation 4 outsold xbox at 113 million compare to xbox one at 48mil, while microsoft purchasing Bethesda Softworks which is a rather giant group for game execusive to redeem themselves for xbox series s/x, time will tell if it's enough to be stronger competitor to playstation 5, maybe they could achieve sucess what they did with xbox 360, especially overseas market, it didn't help microsoft releasing a year later in asian countries (later than ps4) and that kill japanese market, ie, only sells around 100 xbox ones per week in japan for 99% of the time since release in 2014 (a year later than ps4)

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2020he also didnt mention you can swap out ps5 ssd with any ssd easilyactually factually incorrect, you can not swap the PS5 ssd as it's soldered pernamently, what you can do is add extra PCIe 4.0 specific (which is expensive and just released) ssd within a dedicated expansion slot, note the PS5 will not accept any slower sdd than PCIe 4.0 as the SDD has to be software whitelisted to work as sony wants to achieve next speed with super fast ssd, on the other any old ssd will b significant slow than Pcie 4.0 ssd

Not enough space for current games like CoD Cold War or the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

364 GB available for games. And then, CoD Black Ops Cold War takes up roughly 130 GB, more than a third of the storage, for one game. For those who like to have several games in their consoles, the Series S is a no go.

BestPhoneGuy, 05 Nov 2020Dang. They're really gonna scam a lot of ppl with this. The ps5 DE costs 100 more, and yo... moreIt seems Xbox didn't quite see Digital Edition coming.
From the early leaks of Series S marketing, it was Marketed as 1080p at 60 fps system. Which are very reasonable for a system whose gpu is weaker than One X.

But after Digital Edition pops out, Series S is marketed as 1440p at 60fps, which technically some game able to reach that at 4teraflop gpu (around rtx1060), but with raytracing and other newer tech gpu cost, it will be a struggle.

I really dislike the way storage is marketed. They should mention that it comes with a 1TB storage medium (SSD, whatever) instead of saying it has 1TB worth of storage space. And why not provide a separate 256/512 GB for system files that's not user-accessible?

Dang. They're really gonna scam a lot of ppl with this. The ps5 DE costs 100 more, and you get a MUCH better GPU, a MUCH better SSD with more storage, and in my opinion, and INSANELY better exclusives. Even if you have a limited budget, I still see no reason not to spend 33% more money, and get all of those benefits.

The 1 TB card costs as much as the Series S itself? What a joke. There's no reason to buy the Series S over the X. Smh my head.
