duncdawg, 09 Nov 2020I was in on the G 5G until it turned out to be an LCD screen :(What's wrong with having LCD screens? They don't develop burn-in so, in the long term, they last longer even if the contrast can be off sometimes. I mean, there's the Edge for those who prefer AMOLED displays, while this is meant to be more affordable.
Shiny Dave, 08 Nov 2020Wouldn't get either myself, but the G9 Power has a clear niche appeal with its battery li... moreSurprisingly, the G8 Power is a better bargain in terms of practical features and smaller size. Not to mention that the resolution of the screen is better on it. The only real deal breakers would be the lack of NFC which the G9 Power has and the worse main camera while having at least one decent auxiliary camera instead of 2 useless sensors to show off the 64 mpx camera.
I think if they went for an SD720/730 then that would redeem this phone somewhat.
Moto G series has certainly captured the attention of the people and I think they should better launch it with a Mediatek Dimensity chipset.
There should be an option in this poll - go for Xiaomi.
My g8+ was pretty good and my moto g7 powers were also decent. I'm on fbs pixel 5 now and I still miss things about them.
6 gigs of ram should be a minimum and I'd definitely be keen If the screens go bright enough.
Outdoor phones that you can barely see in the sunlight are not cool. Sounds like the g9+ has a better display.
When are they going to make a Moto G Fan Edition.. these devices are far too big 6.7" what the hell..
only 5g is the feature nothing more else
All we have seen on other devices, nothing special
I hope there's a motorola store in the Philippines.
Make a compact phone , this over large screen is not user friendly for many
Its a perfect range phone
Motorola where has the Force series gone ? bring it back
They should implement the rear design of the Moto Edge into their midrangers at least. These phones looks cheap as hell
My pre Lenovo Motorola were pretty good, the ones after the acquisition were terrible!
My current spare phone, the Moto G6 Play(32GB Storage, 3GB RAM, SD430 SoC) is terrible, brand new it lagged a bit but now constantly lags and it's pretty frustrating(I don't have many app on it, and most of them are light and don't run in the background). It got stuck in a boot loop and had to clean cache from the recovery to fix it, the OS crushes once in while etc.
Also how is it possible to not include the compass functionality on modern phones? My older ones had one but the current one doesn't and I can't use the maps easily, especially in areas where the area is like a checkerboard.
*Also if I'm not mistaken almost all or even all of their new low-mid range phones don't have compass!
**Also why region specific the NFC? Normally in my region area was in the countries that got the NFC version, but mine isn't and I was also frustrated about this as well Well for this phone the camera, NFC, SoC, fast charging capability and Wi-Fi where region dependent.
***It has some nice moto specific features but one thing that I don't like that got worse with Android 9 update, is the Dolby Audio feature that you can't turn off without headphones and even having the audio to the lowest it sounds pretty loud. I had to download an EQ app to "decrease" the volume. Also with the headphones the Dolby Audio EQ with the presets but also with custom tuning was pretty bad and disabled it and kept using the one I downloaded(The EQ app that I downloaded, was disabled when I was trying the Dolby Audio EQ, so rest assured, they weren't conflicting).
When motorola gonna launch these phones in Canada ?
To be exact i cant wait to see Nokia 9.3 Pureview.
Hope it gets a huge battery and a penta camera like the last one along with pure android experience and fast battery charging and 256 or better GB configuration along with 12 or 16 GB ram.
Wouldn't get either myself, but the G9 Power has a clear niche appeal with its battery life hyperfocus and I can see it having a lot of satisfied customers outside of the enthusiast space.
