My data was backed up to Google drive however as the software update renders it a different device (or earlier android version) the backup was not able to be restored. If you are doing the update, back up via smart switch and move the file to a pen drive.

One using Beta versions always are prepared for this. They also have to loose their data while switching from beta to stable. So they have a backup fo their data.

Is this a joke? Official (?!) suggestion is to install some apk file from unknown google drive address? If this is not a joke then the way how OnePlus is handling whole situation is completely ridiculous and unproffesional.
