Jasper5774, 10 Nov 2020China is not a poor country anymore where such practices can not be tolerated. Students workin... moreIf you bothered to read the article you would have know that the taiwanese company pegatron exploited taiwan students studying in mainland China. Taiwanese exploting taiwanese, whats not to like?
AnonD-731363, 10 Nov 2020Would like to see what happens if they find Foxconn doing same dirty things. Would like to see what would happen if China became a normal democracy, with real elections, no "for life" dictators, and normal business practices. Apple and other Western companies have pushed some good changes in China and elsewhere and have made working conditions better. That's a fact. So, good on Apple.
There is a good question of why the developed economies allowed their large companies to set up shop in China in the first place when China bans virtually every Western media and information-providing Western company, and it engages in IP theft and predatory trade practices. But that is a separate issue.
Anonymous, 10 Nov 2020Company this big should have own factory ....
They could always put up one in their home countries but...
xD
Now other factories will be forced to do double time or triple time of their production.
Forced Overtime.
Anonymous, 10 Nov 2020Publicity stunt. What about foxconn? If you weren't lazy enough you would have found its not the first time Pegatron been CAUGHT and prosecuted doing this.
All companies in China does this
Apple is just the 'biggest brand among them. Thats all.
No one is saint
Mobilemaster, 10 Nov 2020Good question. If this brand will have to close it will be really funny.

Jasper5774, 10 Nov 2020China is not a poor country anymore where such practices can not be tolerated. Students workin... morePegatron is Taiwanese and the scam was made by corrupt Taiwan officials.
I say Apple must give all iPhone assembly to Non corrupt and capable like Lux Share which is exclusively taken orders from Apple to assemble all of the AirPods models since 2016
Anonymous, 10 Nov 2020Thats the nature of the world now. Nearly all phones, pixels, apple, samsung, lg, htc, sony, x... moreExcept Google, all other have own factories.
That is the point.
China is not a poor country anymore where such practices can not be tolerated. Students working may be okay but upon that overtime shifts is too much.
This is the classic example of exploitation of your citizens. Just imagine after so much sensorship this news came out then how much more wrong is going on there.
Also each and every greedy channel partner is here to blaim. Pegatron, apple, distributor and even the buyers who has promoted such practices by purchasing such products.
This is not applicable for Foxconn... :D

Thats the nature of the world now. Nearly all phones, pixels, apple, samsung, lg, htc, sony, xiaomi, huawei, 1plus, moto, etc etc
Designed in the West, all made in Asia. Korea, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, India.. etc etc
So isn't it funny why only Apple take action, while the rest is silent? No goal for carbon free, no goal for working condition, no goal for toxic free..
Company this big should have own factory ....
LOL, 10 Nov 2020A trillion currency worth company can buy their way to capability over night if they deem fit ... moreThey can but they wont so his statement is still correct. Same thing as they can also buy their way to making their factories in US but they dont.
LOL, 10 Nov 2020A trillion currency worth company can buy their way to capability over night if they deem fit ... moreApole has more muscle power than any other company but do they have the ethics to do? Absolutely not. Apple is way greedy to do anything about workers rights.
Same goes for other companies too but to lesser extent.
