Even the most overpriced garbage such as crapple. Lol no its not. Leica Q, M, T, CL & SL series are all designed, handmade & manufactured in Germany. Its a masterpiece craftmanship.
The one that made in China are their cheap compact series (C-Lux, D-Lux) which is a rebranded from Panasonic.

In this case, it’s a yes. It therefore has an audience no matter how small.
Urban legend has it that a Japanese photographer once asked Leica for a monochrome autofocus camera and offered 2 million dollars. Maybe this is what came out of that discussion...

Monochrome is not just about being more light sensitive 3x compared to Rggb of same size, it is also artistic point of view.
B&W photos are considered Timeless ....

Except you can't directly relate Rolex watches to digital cameras.
The Rolex watches are made with extremely expensive materials, so their durability is guaranteed to be world class even after so many years, and there are people who see value in them.
This camera, on the other hand, is aiming for superior imaging performance in lower light scenes without sacrificing the resolution, and just like in watches, there are people who can appreciate the selling points of this camera.
Whether you have the money to buy these things or not is already your problem, but it should no longer be your business if you don't find any worth in these products. Just let the damn people get what they want.

A niche product. U got 3x more lights with near to none image noises. Color photos convert to B&W will never get the same look as purely come from a B&W sensor. Agree, its not for everyone, but to say its gimmicky? Some people below even said useless. Such a pity.
Ever heard about Alan Schaller? He's a B&W professional photographer, using a monochrome Leica M. His works are fantastic & well known among other famous photographer. In fact if u a well known photographer, I can bet u will appreciate B&W photography.
