    4G chips only, meaning that huawei can only buy snapdragon 730 , which can only be used in Y series phone like:
    Y7 2021
    Y9 2021
    etc

              I honestly don't mind them using Qualcomm (or any brands as long as they are capable of making good quality high end SoCs), I just wish this won't hinder Huawei from using Sony's custom sensors with unique CFAs to do whatever they want with their cameras. Right now I'm a bit skeptical if upcoming SD875's Specta ISP will have a native support for a Quad Bayer RYYB sensor and hardware-accelerated, RAW-level 3DNR that Mate 40 Pro uses for the image processing.

                                  It should be noted that Huawei using Snapdragon chips is not a new thing. They did have entry level offerings with Snapdragon 400-series (Huawei Y6, Y7, Honor 7A, 7C for example). What would be new is Snapdragon-powered Huawei flagship, which up to now has been a Kirin fare. Then again, they can follow Samsung's playbook, make different chip versions of the same phone to cater to different markets.

                                      [deleted post]I agree. Huawei's flagships such as Mate 20 pro and P30 pro can easily beat Samsung and Apple. It such a pity Huawei is no longer compete with those brands anymore due to the lack of Google service. I wish the next President of US will unban Huawei.

                                        Logic is simple;
                                        The most advanced smartphone chip China mainland(I mean except Taiwan)can make is Kirin 710A with SMIC 14nm tech.And even 14nm tech is be limited due to SMIC still using US tech.The most advance produce with 0% US tech is 90nm and working to 28nm currently,but it still need years.
                                        If Huawei cant get new chip from Qualcomm or Mediatek,the entire smartphone department will die after they run out of Kirin 990 and Kirin 9000(TSMC no longer be allowed to produce chip for Huawei)
                                        There is a old Chinese saying'to live is better than to die'.Using Qualcomm at least promise Huawei smartphone department can live longer,having chance to wait new Kirin chip
