That is a big improvement to the scoring system. There is a separate photo score for the main sensor

The total comprises a zoom score and ultrawide angle score so obviously phones without zoom and ultrawide will not do as well in the total score. You can look at the score for the main sensor separately rather than the total score

Everyone's a photographer now. I actually plan to get the 4a.

Google pixel 4a takes great photos, certainly better than the mate 20 x from 2018.
All they care about is camera spec and no software processing.

Nothing shouldn't be taken seriously.all the benchmark and scoring apps and web sites, all the commercials with exaggerated atmospheric slogans and commentaries,nothing.personal research and chosing a phone for the specific features that fulfill the individual needs is the most rational way.

Really? Someone complain about multicamera setup? I have P30 Pro and I love it. How could I catch wide scene without ultrawide camera? Why would I have an ugly digital zoom full of huge pixels? Don't see these benefits?
Anyway, DxO score cannot be taken too seriously. I remember, that nokia N808 and Lumice 1020 (large sensors, quite good optics, xenon flash...) had worse score than Iphones and galaxy S from these times.

Mobile cameras have almost reached their peak with main cameras, so now to buy some time let's put some additional and meaningless hardware, aka telephoto, wide angle etc. cameras and let those imbeciles fall for it, and why not, because no shortage of stupid people in the world, who now buy a mobile phone based on number of cameras instead of end image quality.
