The only important one are the 15gb free that can store anything im storing important music and apps on that storage and still have 10gb free on 1 acc!! ihave 4 google acc 60gb free💪
Noone talk about putting a fuk tone of files on internal memory slow the phone thats why better used sd card and put your useless stuff there

I work... moreI simply don't understand how your SD cards get corrupted in just a few years. I've never had any of my SD cards corrupted even after more than a decade already, with the newest one being from 2 years ago. I know they wouldn't last forever, but surely not as early as not even more than 5 years or so.
To make things even more apparent, all SD cards that I have are NOT the highest end models, which guarantees that durability won't be as good as a premium top-tier SD card.
Are SD cards really that brittle, or are you guys just simply careless at handling them? We've had SD cards for years, and people barely talk about file corruption on legitimate ones.
I'm starting to think that this is just a propaganda to stop the production of SD cards. I just can't understand how people still manage to destroy durable cards.

The die size for a desktop SSD IC is bigger than a MicroSD card making it impossible for the same but lower grade chips to be used.
Sometimes you can take an argument too far, if you worked for an "SSD company" you must have been the janitor because nobody with any electronics knowledge would support that claim.

if you have more than 15gb stored, backed, autotagged, and so on... i believe the service is worth 1,6€/month
Personally after 12 years in my Google account I have stored over 15gb, the free quota wasn't meant to last forever.
Or if you just don't care they will probably set an option to reduce quality and save data I guess

microSD or PenDrive uses the lowest grade of SSD - no matter how expensive they are.
I worked in SSD company before and they have a set of rules to grade SSD. Those good one will be used in Enterprise SSD, Good one will be using in Consumer SSD then the poor one will be recycled and used in PenDrive and microSD card.
There is always a reason the phone manufacturer stop giving microSD card slot for this. If your microSD card is still running fine that you are the lucky one especially those bought them 2-3 years ago. Like those 5 years old type, they are more durable than nowadays due to the technologies they are using MLC vs TLC.
SD card doesn't corrupt like HDD... When HDD die, most likely you can't access too all your data but the way SSD die is very different and random and sometimes you will not notices until it really die out completely.
How many of you will go check every single photo in your SD card. If you really do so especially on those SD card aged like 2-4 years, you will notices some videos may be corrupted or some photos may be half corrupted. You will never know until one day you scan every single photo.
SD card or pendrive are the most unreliable storage compare to HDD or premium SSD.

Assuming all of those SD Cards you've had are legitimate and came from legit and reliable brands, then I suppose that you were so heavy at using them for them to break that easily. In fact, I can even bring up my old 8GB micro SD Card from SanDisk from more than a decade ago and it still works just as good as it did on the first day I had it.
Obviously if you don't take good care of things enough, then they'd certainly break in time, so it is your fault for being careless about them. Durability of these SD cards are only good for some extent, so don't expect they'd last like diamonds.

I'm using a SanDisk 64GB micro SD for over 2 years now and I'm still yet to have problems with it.
Just stop buying cheap ones from unreliable brands and you'll be safe with your purchase.
After all, you have enough money to buy a premium phone, so definitely you also have enough one to get a reliable SD Card.

Anders, 12 Nov 2020Yet another reason why phones having micro SD support is do importantYup, definitely true. I only use the phone's internal storage for app installation, WhatsApp backup, and Telegram files. Everything else goes to my microSD card.
If the phone doesn't have a microSD card slot, I'll make sure it has OTG support. If it doesn't have that either, that phone is out from my list.

Nobody needs the fastest read and write speeds when transferring small files like camera images, documents, downloaded music, etc.
When times come that needs the phone to be factory reset, however, you can sleep at peace when you know that all your personal important files are safe and won't be deleted if you remove the SD Card from the phone before performing the factory reset.
The importance of SD Cards go beyond just mere improvements in speed. It doesn't hurt to know that the Sony Xperia 5 II with a micro SD Card slot is still faster than the OnePlus 8 Pro with no SD Card slot.

I have my five-year-old Samsung Note 4 that I inherited from my dad and the microSD card still works beautifully well. Even the speed is decently fast.

I did buy a cheap one before and it did corrupt after a while, so there's a lesson learned there - NEVER buy a cheap one. Spend some money for high-quality ones.

And yet some critics wonder why we even need a microSD card slot in 2020. Thankfully I never use cloud storage for storing all my files. Everything is still on my microSD card. For someone like me who loves to frequently flash custom ROM by cleaning everything from the phone, having a microSD card slot is super vital.
