I read that this new chiop has crippled the 4K video somewhat.

The previous chip does 4K120p and this new chip is 4K60p.

I thought tech should be progressing and we should be seeing better 8K video quality and faster 4K at 240p, or at least maintain 4K120p.

Waiting for Qualcomm(Flagship)/ MediaTek(Budget) 5nm.You do realise the Exynos was beating every chip out there before it was plagued with these problems. I remember the Exynos beating every Apple A series chip and Snapdragon out there

It's a very nice and balanced chip by Samsung.
Scoring higher than SD865+ and having a second gen integrated 5G modem.
At 5nm this should be pretty efficient as the chip size is not large, thanks to the only 10 G78 cores. Making this half the size of the Kirin 9000 which has a whopping 24 G78 cores.

Their are full of comments saying exynos will overheat it will drain battery its trash etc etc.Yeah for sure exynos was bad till exynos 990 and no one is giving the reason that why it will be bad again. Most of them have big mouths and very less knowledge they don't know that samsung has ditched mongoose cores that was the reason for most of the issues that exynos faced for years after years. Now when they are using arm cores we can see the real picture lets see by using the same cores who optimize the cpu better its snapdragon or samsung.

In case you missed the last 2 years, Exynos reputation is down the drain so why Xiaomi want so badly to have Exynos like you claimed?

Xiaomi already has good relationships with Qualcomm (being the brand to debut new chipsets like the SD865, 732G and soon 875) and Mediatek (being the brand to debut new chipsets like G90T and Dimensity). Either one is more preferable than Exynos in the minds of phone buyers. BBK only using Exynos because of packaged deals tied to AMOLED panels.

Another thing to prove how pointless your comment is Xiaomi already has good relationship with Samsung. Who first used Samsung 108MP sensor? If Xiaomi really want Exynos, Samsung would be happy to sell it. So, stop with your baseless accusations. Nowadays Exynos is not preferred by anyone except Samsung sheeps.
